New issue came up today

Postby Frylock » January 19th, 2014, 9:49 pm

So I wired up my power windows today using relays and decided to take it for a test drive. Everything went good tell I put my foot in it a little, maybe 3/4 throttle. Then a hear a pretty loud crack and feel a little vibration at the steering wheel. The engine also cuts out for just a second. Afterwards it drives just fine. Recreated it maybe 3 more times trying to figure out what is happening.

Anyone have any idea? or where I should start looking? Never has done this before. Noise sounds like its coming from up front.

Its a C20 with the 454 and TH400 tranny.

Did a visual inspection once I got home, found nothing out of place. :banghead:

Was the "Crack" sound like that of an electrical arc? or like something snapping off?

doesnt sound electrical (electrician by trade)

Really have no idea what it could be. Something is moving around in the engine or slipping AND engine is cutting out too.

hmmmmm. :dontknow: well check the obvious stuff, belts hoses, etc. Check your motor mounts make sure they are all good. We may need to have a garage day and see what we can find..
