Take a look at this pic, could this be the blown part of the gasket?
It is really rusty between the last 2 cylinders on the gasket, and the #4 cylinder had rust inside the cylinder

almost looks like the gasget didnt seat well (imporper torque amout or pattern or both) or there is a high spot in the head. whats this on? the yota? for the one with some rust in the bore (unless you wanna rebuild) if its light i would dump a little marvle mystery oil in it and cycle it over a few times with the head off wipe out the crud and repeat. ive run datsuns old iron volvos and numorous small and big blocks with minor rust pits with very little if any impact on performance.

There was tons of rust in the radiator, I was flushing the system when I decided to check the oil because I had a feeling the head gasket was blown

oil it up and cycle it through a few times wipe it as clean as you can get it and check for pitting. hard to tell from a photo but the port between 3 and 4 at about 6 oclock looks to have some flow marks from it to the cylinder. more often than not its the 4 that has problems in my (experiance anyways) because its not as easy to reach with a socket and ratchet so your body dosnt make as much power and its not as tight as you think. yes i know i said ratchet not tq wrench. i know an unbelieavable amount if home "mechanics" that dont actually own one and guess when re assembeling stuff

harbor freight has them for dirt cheap, I use one and then back it up with a needle style for a more accurate read. They actually work pretty well though.....

I have one you can use. Call me when you want it.

Not obe of the head bolts, it secures the front of the head to the timing cover
Now i am on a bolt hunt

Went to Home Depot, found what I needed, got the head back on and valve cover[attachment=0]uploadfromtaptalk1336861244580.jpg[/attachment]
Wish I had the time and place to clean everything a little better, and paint some stuff as i put them back on, oh well, Im going to replace the spark plugs while I have easy access to them right now
