FYI, the following was copied from the official Greanhorn ranger district winter travel management plan. I posted this to clear up confusion over what is closed and what is not.

Talk to a couple ranger that work green horn area today. ask them about the season closures. Gates still open now . trails and gates close on marked trails when snow falls.

The gates are open on Rancheria, which most of it is not effected by the winter closure law, but they will close it when snow gets too deep. The closed roads DO NOT have gates or signs and never will. It is your responsibility to know about and stay off closed roads. The roads highlighted on the map are closed Jan 1 through April 15 of every year.
