First time at Hungry Valley

After my seven year old son got out of school we went to Hungry Valley to check it out. I have a stock 2004 TJ Rubicon. We messed around at the practice area for a while. My son was a little worried going up the cement and rock hill the first time. I didn't go through the sluice box. That looked a little scary to go through since we were by ourselves. My son liked going through the water obstacles the most. I tried the deeper one last and got high centered for a minute. I was thinking how my wife said don't try to drive in any mud pits and get stuck as we left the house  It was a good time to try out the lockers. :yup: It was a lot easier on our second and third passes when I didn't go right down the middle and had the axles locked. Then, we went on an few trails. We went up Lower Freeman to East Freeman to Quail Pass to Pronghorn Trail. It was almost dark so we took Powerline Road back to Golden Hill Road and ate at Carl's Junior in Gorman. It was a good first trip out with the jeep and my son had a lot of fun. Sorry, but I forgot the camera so there aren't any pictures.

Good report.

You should check out the upcoming runs section, as it looks like we have a newbie/ball&chain run planned at Hungry Valley next month. Perfect time to let the wife drive the Jeep!
