It rained like crazy in Bakersfield on Friday, so a buddy and I did a solo run up Rancheria Road Friday after work. The photos are from our night run. We ran into a young couple in a diesel crew cab and we agreed to keep an eye out for each other. After making it to the gate (which was closed), we did a couple of side trails and headed back. We ran into our new friends, stuck in a ditch at 4,200 feet elevation. After dragging my jeep for a ways, the snow and ice piled up in front of the tires and worked like wheel chocks, allowing the winch to pull them out. With only minor damage to plastic panels and a compomised bead on the driver's front tire, we got them aired up and caravaned with them off the mountain. Over all, it was a fun and risky trip that lasted until 3 am!

That's awesome! The snow in the front bumper looks like a cow catcher on a train.
