I made the first semi serious trail run this past week since the Hemi conversion. I spent a week camping up in the mountains at Courtrite Resevoir/Voyager Rock campground. Did a lot of fishing (got a LOT of trout..kept some, released a lot more) and had a great time. Last Thursday we (myself, my Dad, my friend John who does a ton of volunteer work in the area, and my friend Scott) took a Dept of Forestry crew 7 miles in on the Dusy-Ershim trail so that they could repair two of the small bridges on the trail. They will be there 6-8 days doing the work. We watched the foreman (Anthony) fall a few trees for the bridge repairs and then came back out. The jeep worked very well with no issues at all. The trail itself was DUSTY and fairly rough but not overly difficult at all. Good times with Dad and buddies from work.

Some pics...Dads Rubicon, the trail, some of us on top of Chicken Rock, etc

I can tell you a ton about the TJ conversion but haven't done a JK. I have heard that the JK is actually easier to do.
I can tell you that the V8 takes it to a whole new level of fun..

Heres a link to my build with a link to a video of it at Pismo at the bottom..

I'm putting a 5.2L magnum in my YJ now. Just getting the finishing touches together over the next month or so. I could use an extra 100 hp over that though. Will it pull the front end off the ground?

I'm hoping to cruise around and kick the crap out of little hondas all day in It. I have smoking them out in my pickup now but they know chipped diesels are quick....they won't be expecting a spunky jeep

No they don't...a hot rod jeep is the last thing they are expecting. I've suprised a few others in pony cars at the lights lately. Fun stuff but watch out for Da Fuzz....
