big bear weekend

we made it to our campsite in big bear at about 11:00pm friday.
the streets and dirt were damp. it looked as if we had just
missed the rain, but there were stars above us. we set up the tent,
including the rain fly, just in case, and relaxed with a cocktail.
next morning, on gold mountain, it was obvious it had rained hard recently.
as we neared 3n16 (main dirt road from big bear to lake arrowhead)
i heard a "clicking" noise. a loose bolt on my driveline was rubbing on
my rear drive disconnect. we headed east on 3n16 back to the hwy.
as we rolled into big bear proper it started raining cats and dogs, i mean
the freekin streets were flooding in a matter of minutes.
apparently no one expected this> there were harley riders everywhere.
most of them only wearing T shirts and looking for shelter. after picking up
new bolts, i laid in a puddle installing them and we headed back to the trails.
it rained hard for about 30 minutes, then turned to sprinkles for several hours
after that.
back on the trail, we ran into a very large group, in no hurry to get anywhere.
my brother and i were being smart asses over the radio, and these folks seem
to play along so we ended up hangin out with them for a few hours.

sorry,,, turning into a long story>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

now , everything is wet and sandy>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
taking a high line i ended up like this.

i got to use the new winch rope, and more winch experience :Thumb:

no mud, but wet sand and rocks, might as well be olive oil and ball bearings.
funny thing was: it happened in sloowwww moootionnn.
i had time to make a cocktail and drink it.
i think my dog shit himself, he was on the down side when everything in the cab started heading his way :lol2:

good clean fun, no harm no foul :Thumb:

P.S. no animals were harmed during this flop :thefinger:

Coil-overs unloading = flopping on da easy chit

You might end up having that much in the coilovers by the time they are tuned right, limit straps, sway bars, and suck-down system ;)

Ask me how I know

Did the dog jump out, or stay in? I wanted to bring my dog wheeling, but i'm afraid I will kill him with a roll. Seen lots of vids of dogs bailing out of the vehicle before it goes over.

actually,, it was a close call, so i'm developing some strapping.
they would have to be over his front shoulders, but in front of his balls.
he likes to hang out the window while under way and he has fantastic balance.
but i think he would have to be cinched down completely to be safe, and i'm not sure
he would go for that.
maybe some window netting like the race rigs.
my brother has a bad ass sewing machine for upholstery, so we can do some testing.
and strap material is cheap :Thumb:

I have seen a dog harness/belt system in a jeep before, i believe it was made for normal passenger cars for dogs... might be worth some research
