I was only there a short time, but here is my report.

Got up there on Saturday morning and it was already 95* by 11:00 in the morning and 101* by 1:00. HOT HOT HOT! (just like every year :thefinger: )

I got up there on Saturday morning and there were already about 5 Infectious members with camp set up. I unloaded the buggy and the RZR off the trailer, said hello to Frank, and got the AC going in the motorhome. AJ wanted to go for a ride in the buggy, so I took him on a quick trip over all the bonus lines and got the buggy up on 2 wheels for his enjoyment. Then, Becka Took a trip in the buggy around a long trail while the kids took turns playing in the RZR.

Troy decided that trying to drift into a turn at 55mph in the whoops was a good idea, and proceeded to enter into a NASTY roll consisting of several violent tumbles. Troy's head was hurting because he didn't tighten his harness down tight and his helmet smacked the dirt hard during one of the tumbles. Troy's passenger (and best friend) grabbed the roll cage rather than the ohh-shit bar during the roll and banged up his arm, and the right side of his torso began to bruise badly. We decided to pack everything up and take the boys back to Bakersfield and have them checked out at Urgent Care. They were banged up and bruised pretty bad, but nothing broken. Since we already rented a motorhome and filled it up with food and beer, we decided to head back to Gorman that night to party with the gang.

The RZR has two broken axles, a broken hub, 2 broken a-arms, broken doors, a bent wheel, and the cage is damaged and needs to be replaced. Very expensive roll, but the machine and helmets did their job and everyone is fine.

We had a great time hanging out with the group into the wee hours of the morning. The next day, one of the victims of the roll was complaining about pain in his side, so we headed back to Bakersfield so his mother could take him to their doctor.

Some side notes on this event:

* The CEO of 4Wheel Parts family member Kevin is a complete asshole. We had problems with the guy last year, and we had numerous run-ins this year, as did one of the other clubs in attendance. He came over to one of our members and told him to get his "piece of shit truck" out of the area, which in return was responded to with a GFY from several members. Then Kevin decided to get in his KOH car and blast through our campsites drunk, almost running over another member's little daughter. Josh chewed him out pretty good, but he drove away and continued the behavior around another club's campsite, who were yelling obscenities at him in Spanish that I dare not repeat. Then while near the rock climb, he purposely drives full-speed right by a woman from another club and misses her by about one foot causing her to fall down - her husband was yelling and throwing rocks at him. Then, the same guy gets into an accident with one of the Rangers late that night and she has to be taken to the hospital with serious injuries. This guy needs to be put on a leash (if they make one that big). If I had a family member representing my business like that, I would kick him to the curb and disassociate him from the company name.

* Attendance at this event gets worse every year. I understand that people seem to be getting out of the 4-wheeling hobby in droves right now, but I also think a lot of it has to do with the heat. It is ALWAYS near or above 100 degrees when they have this event, and every year I hear people complain that they will not attend the next year because of the heat. March or October would be way better. From all 3 clubs in Bakersfield, probably half of the members that went last year participated this year. A couple of the LA area clubs that we are friend with didn't attend at all this year.

I didn't get to stay too long, but here are some pics:

i heard about the drunk ass hitting the ranger, and yet no arrests were made :dontknow:
it was hot, and uncomfortable, but my rig was working so well, i still enjoyed it
met some new folks while we were there, and we'll be spending more time with them.
they came to the august M&G and met DD and a few others. they told me that they were
looking for a group like ours, and they seem to be good folks.
ON THE OTHER HAND i was extremely disappointed with a few members
whom left their trash for others to take care of
THAT"S FUCKED UP!!!!! :furious:

mechanically my rig was very good, but i sustained a lot more tubing damage,
gonna have to cut out and repair more then originally anticipated :suprise:

Ruth, Peanut and I got up there at around 930 on Sunday morning. It was already hot but we were greeted by the friendly people that make up IOR so it wasn't too bad.

We did a fun run up Henrys crack then headed back to camp for lunch and the raffle. 4wp didn't skimp on the raffle this year, giving away 2 sets of 5 tires and a set of 5 rims, a winch and then various other things. I ended up with a 7/8 d-ring...... Doesn't fit the jeep but thanks to Josh for the good idea to use it as a link between tow straps because it is a quick release not the screw type.

We then screwed around in the rock garden where Finn made it look easy on 35's.

All in all it was a good time. I missed the "fun & excitement" from the night before but I had to work. The turnout was surprisingly low for this event. My guess is because of the heat.

It was great to see everyone though.

Trainhop and myself ended up begin the first people at the event on Friday night even had the entire course blocked off of course nothing that we didn't feel could be moved ;).

Shortly after about 30 minutes we were followed by Good Ole Roger and his gang.
Didn't do to much the first night just did the training course where Trainhop got stuck on the rollers and had to be winched out hahah :moon: :thefinger:

Saturday was fairly slow just mainly did the training course again and a few of the basic trails. Oh yeah and of course there was plenty of beer :drinks: to go around so that kept most people occupied. 4 Wheel Parts showed up around noonish to start setting up the tents and asked us to move so we moved our stuff a few inches over I guess they should have specified "AJ"!

Of course we did an infectious run later that night up Henry's Crack. I don't think anyone broke any thing and it was a nice quick run pretty single file I must say and took us a maximum of 20 minutes. Of course Roger decided to drop back down and go backwards. Most people followed however Justin and I decided to take the view from above. After they finish the group broke up and Justin and I noticed that Roger had another plan so like dummies :dig: we followed him and the Cherokee tailing him.

Unknowingly, we were going to the Snatch which I've never done. About a half of the way through the trail I got stuck on the wall, and some people decided to not look behind then cough cough "Mr. Cherokee". Leaving the JK's to do our thing alone for the rest of the trail after hitting a few walls and making it out with minor scratches we were able find flat ground and continue back to camp.

Got back to came and did what infectious does best and got some more alcohol in our systems after a few sobe bombs, a few cart wheels over the fire(Zak), flips out of the trailers(Zak) and fat girl wrestling matches (Trainhop Vrs. Floppy) I think things finally started to clear up and people starting hitting the rigs, tents, and trailers for some good shut eye.

Sunday of course many more people started rolling in for the main event the Raffle let's just be honest. and some of the runs.

That's all I got as I took off after the raffle was over. I brought the women on the trip and she won a 7/8 D-Ring Shackle ;) So all in all bringing her wasn't the worst idea I had that weekend ;) I'm sure she'll kick my ass for that later, but that all this fat guy wrote hope everyone else had a good time.

Side Note - The heat sucked was just about like Bakersfield so nothing we couldn't handle.
