[color=#000000][b]i had a great time this past weekend at paniment valley days, the weather was awsome and alot of cool looking rigs. [/b]
[b]we went on a run that was rated an 8 out of 8 on saturday. 35 rigs so you know there had to be a break. 2 toyotas broke on the trail but got fixed. the trail wasn't that hard at all, i heard the hard part was alot worse last year. we were able to explore an old mine on the trail, about half way i realized i still had my sun glasses on.
on sunday Scott, jesse, and i went and found another trail to run. another mine to explore but as we looked for another trail jesse had alot of pain in his foot from a pulled muscle he headed back to his camp. Scott and i continued and we found a trail with a small water fall (no water) to play on.
i plan on going next year and i hope some of you join us to represent infectious off road.
oh yeah, the food was really good.

Did you tent it or did someone give you a spot in a trailer?

Do you know what club the girl that rolled the xj was with?

Smack2020 had room in his RV for me but there were alot of people out there with tents.
As far as the xj that rolled, I'm pretty sure she was with the hanford trail busters. They were camped right next to us and she wasn't the only one that hurt their rig. Igofishn also had an accident out on the same trail but thank God he and his wife and dog were ok. His jeep was drivable but had some damage.

Glad to hear everyone is OK.

What happened to Igofishn's JK? I'm assuming he took his JK not the Sami.

Really glad everyone is going to be fine.

Considering how the so called "Emergency Services" responded we should try to be as self sufficient on our runs as possible.

I for one am Red Cross first aid and CPR trained. We should see about getting most if not all of the group trained and carry full first aid packs in all of our vehicles.

Also who wants to look into what we need to do to run HAM radio in our vehicles? CB is great but the range is not enough especially in a situation like they encountered.

Thoughts? Comments?

I believe you have to have a license for the ham... i know a guy that does it on XJtalk.com. I will ask him about it all.

Technician Class License. You can get an entry level Amateur Radio Technician license by passing a 35-question multiple-choice examination. No Morse code test is required. The exam covers basic regulations, operating practices, and electronics theory, with a focus on VHF and UHF applications.

I stopped to render aid, decided I needed to turn off my Jeep, opened the door, turned off the key and it started rolling down the hill. Somehow it slipped out of park. My wife was in the passenger seat at the time. I had a choice of letting it roll off the mt. or turn the wheel into the mt. I turned the wheel into the mt. and it hit a huge boulder and flipped on its side. Wife and dog were ok. I got more bruises than she did. I went flying over the jeep. Winched the Jeep back on its wheels and went down to get help. I was the one who made the emergency calls on the CB that got the ball rollig to get her out. My roll was a fluke. Jeep is at the body shop. Insurance will cover it.


We went up Saturday morning to get the XJ out of the canyon. Flipped it on its wheels and it started right up. I was the "village idiot" that drove it out of the canyon, with the help of some winching. It took us about 2.5 hours to get it out of the canyon and another 5 to get down to base camp. We had to take it via pleasant canyon instead of back down south park. The hill at south park was too steep to try. we flat towed it off the mt.
