They are really cool guys. They are not in the phone book because they missed the deadline for it. They are advertised in the Valley Classifieds and on Google. They are really cool guys i was there for about an hour chit chating with them and told them i would throw up some stuff on the local jeep forums for them. I wont be going to 4wps for any gears lockers. These guys are the type that you can sit there forever and just talk to. They took me out back and showed me that the rear end was done and they were working on my front gear. They made me fell like i was talking to a friend to do my gears!!!!

That is Awsome AJ, maybe GJ should put a section in here about shops that are good to us.

Or maybe some of us could go down there and talk to them and make them an Infectious Vendor, giving members deals if we go to them, do they have stickers?

Im going back down there tomorrow and ask them about that. Either way i am going to be getting a sticker of theirs to put on my jeep.

Thats good to hear. We need a kickass driveline shop with decent prices. Do they make custom driveshafts? Pro shaft's service really went downhill toward the end.

yup they make custom drive shafts. i heard from someone else that their drive shafts arent that great but who knows... im going to use them and i am going to have the fix mine that i broke in calico.

Wells that's awesome that another shop is in town. Options are always a good thing. Personally though I will stick with Tony at 4wp cause he's an excellent mechanic... I can be in that place for hours just hanging out. I don't like new guys lol maybe after they prove them selfs... lol I heard there drive lines arnt all that good, so I will stick with my driveline guy.. lol just I.M.O.

I have had 3 driveshafts made at their shop, great service, fast and fair quotes.

Had rear shortened and rebuilt(cv), had front completely made with long slip, and also had a rear for my old chevy made there. The cv rear and the front have been through some tough abuse and a heavy right foot, no problems. The rear in the chevy was still going strong when i sold the truck.

Also they have made drivelines for our engine dyno at work, driveshaft has seen 1200hp dyno runs for 6hr intervals, no problems.

And they have made drivelines for Vulcan out on hwy166 for running in their heavy equipment.

These guys know their stuff and will not dissapoint.

Haven't had them do a gear install(do my own). But i know for a fact they are on top of the game for driveshafts.

I had pro shaft install my ruby axles and regear them as well and have had no problem with them for 4 years. My front tom woods drives shaft center bearing went bad later on and the new guys rebuilt it with no problem. Painted and balanced, making it look like new again. From what I hear they kept the Pro Shaft balancing machine that is used in the drag racing world so I would think that they will have some very good service with custom DS's. Havent used the new guys to regear yet, I always try to go with the old farts when it comes to gears.

We'll see. Ive heard good and bad so far. PTO always does a good job, but charge a little much and take their time. I'll have my rear driveline shortened at the new place on Friday.

My rear driveshaft needs a new end (Tcase side) welded on by thursday, but dont want a crap job done either....

I just had them build me a rear the the Burb. I got 2! I would use them!!!!! Great service and turn around time.

Get their quotes in writing. Twice I've used them and each time the price was raised over 40 percent between when I dropped the shaft off and when I picked it up. So far their work has held up, but get their quotes in writing.

well thanks for the heads up. They said it would be around $280 to replace the end and all new bearings or $360 for a new one. I asked what the difference is and the kid didnt seem to know the answer.

I had a new end welded up for my front a few years ago by the old owner and he took $200 to do it.

I got a quote from them 2 times before I did my gears the first for front and rear on the phone was in the $900-$1k for front and rear and when i went down there I got a completely different quote for $2200 for front and rear. I was kinda Leary to use them mostly because they wouldn't tell me what parts they would be installing it was just "top notch stuff" or "really good gears". Others might have had great experiences with them but I found to be kinda on the shady side but that is only my opinion.

Well got my shaft back today, $40 cheaper then they said it would be. Looks like a good job. After installing I still had a bad knocking noise, turns out the pinion nut somehow backed off, I think the rear end is just about toast. Now the question is, do I repair and install a locker or buy a rock jock d60.

Once you add in gears, master install kit, parts and labor I think it would be easier and less down time to just by a rock jock and sell the d44 chromo axles.


I just cant decide on what locker I want....detroit auto is what I was planning on going with, but I really like the daily driver aspect of being able to turn it off.

Is the Big Bearing kit worth it on the rockjock D60s?

Detroits are not as harsh as you put them to be. Even then it seems like if you are to go that far you will have lockable hubs on the front, so the axles will be free while you're on the street.
