Just want to say hello to all! I'm a longtime owner of a 1987 Suzuki Samurai who recently bought a jeep wrangler unlimited 2010. No I didn't get rid of the SAmi that's my baby, :-). You can usually find me on some offroad up in the Sequoia National Forest. Hi all!!!!!

Thanks for the Love. It'll be nice to go somewhere and not worry about breaking down 5 miles into a trail...with no one but my lonesome or with my girls. But as you can see I'm stock. So I probably won't be climbing any big rocks anytime soon! Hell I have to worry about buying gas now for my Jeep. I'm saving my recyclables, and i haven't even went shopping in the past week. :suprise: I have to save up for my weekend adventures.

Welcome to the group!!! :Thumb:

There are some great trails that are fun and challenging that you would do well on with a stock Jeep!

Willing? Hmm... I heard some stories about you and the ladies Henry.... now I want to know what "willing" is all about. :thefinger:

And welcome :drinks:, I am loving that pick of the Zuk going into the forest.

Your Jeep looks like Victor's before he met us. Be careful... it's a slippery slope owning a Heep.

casaintsfan :

I guess that's what i was pretty much figuring, about the family thing. My car i traded in was excellent on gas but it was just too small for everyone...i was tired of being crammed in a tuna can. So i'm all about Jeeps...my girls are all about Jeep (And Sami's too)...we have this little thing we do...everytime we see a Jeep when were headed up into the hills...we say "JEEP ALERT". I've kinda hinted that i might get one....and i knew that if i did buy another vehicle it would have to be something i would want to drive all the time. So i got it. My girls..(13 and 7 yrs) they have been at their dads for a couple weeks...so they don't know about the Jeep. I'm going to tell them to go in the garage and get something out of the Samurai for me and suprise them with the Jeep. I should video tape it...because i'm sure they are going to be screaming!!! My dream is to have a rock crawler someday...just to have fun with and tear up...but in the meantime...i love watching the ones that have the rigs to do it.

There he goes... working that charm. I thought you already spotted the ring?

You know, she's not going to just make you part of the family when you show up at her door with a set of 33s in hand. :stirPot:

Yep, you do have skid plate. Good ones too. Your Jeep came with them. Almost all of the JKs here, including mine, are using the factory skid plates. Ive taken mine through the toughest trails in California. So do not worry about skid plates, just get that jeep a small lift and some tires. I have a 2.5" Teraflex budget boost kit, new in the box, that I can give you for very cheap - and Im sure a couple of us guys could help you install it on a Sunday if you buy the Pizza and beer. The only thing that the kit does not have is shocks, but you can get a decent set of shocks for $260 like these: http://www.teraflex.biz/products/jk-ter ... -of-4.html

Your jeep is more than capable enough to do Freeway ridge. And you will have help there to spot you and coach you through the basics. I think that you and your girls will have a blast.
