Hey guys. Just wanted to say hi. I am new to the forum and wheeling in general. I had a CJ7 about 15 years ago but never really took it out so I am learning from scratch. I just bought a 2013 JKUR and did my first trail run last weekend up at freeway ridge. I was totally amazed at how well this Jeep handled stock. I have been doing a little reading and think I have a decent list of mods to tackle first. Let me know if I am missing something essential or you would recommend a different product.
1. Spider rock crawler front bumper
2. Smittybilt XRC8 winch
3. Rugged ridge 2.5" lift
4. Swaybar disconnects. ( I know I have the e-disconnect but have heard it is still limiting on flex)
5. Synergy steering stabilizer with relocation kit. (Not sure if the dual stabilizer is needed with 33" tires)
6. Nitro inner axle sleeves (I am opting for these since I want to do all my mods myself)

So far this what I see as needed to get me around most trails. My jeep came with the BFG mud tires so I plan on running them for a bit. I figure if I can get around in them with the 2.5" lift then next year I can put some 35s and a long arm suspension and not waste perfectly good tires. I also think my skills will improve faster and better if I dont just modify my way to the top.

I am hoping to make it to a meet and greet with you guys as soon as work will allow. I work in LA 2 weeks a month and am off the other 2 but right now it looks like the week you guys have the M&G is when ill be gone. Hopefully this wont keep me from going on some runs with you guys. Anyway, I look forward to chatting with you guys in the future and hopefully getting our wheels dirty.

Welcome!

Add an aftermarket tie rod to your list of mods too. If you have an Auto trans, be sure to add a trans cooler before really using it off-road.

I think the '13's already have a cooler dont they DD?

To add to the list better rockers that weld to the frame. You should put gusseting your C's very high on your list of mods. Double steering stablizers are a waste of money but the synergy flip is a good idea.

Oh and welcome!
Rob

Thanks for the input. I do already have a CB. Taking it down to Jericho to tune up tomorrow. I spoke with the guys at G&G. Gonna have them do the sleeves and gussets in a few weeks. The '13 does have a tranny cooler on it.

Dont worry Drilldaddy....they are just sore because a Jeep pulled 2 sammis and a toy up piston hill at the same time. And didn't Matt pull a sammy out of Odessa 2 weeks ago? Didn't a toy get stuck on Freeway ridge for 24 hours a couple days ago? :stirPot: :lol3:

As long as we're all getting off the pavement that's all that matters right. Looking forward to some good times with this group.
