Hello, I recently moved here to Camarillo from southwest Virginia. I have been looking for a good club to hang out with. I was with a Jeep club out there for about 10 years and loved it. I own an 89 Wrangler with a mild injected 350, nv4500, some 3/4 ton ford axles sprung over on 36's. Sad part is... it's still in VA. :( However I am in the process of building a 79 Jeep J10 with a 5.3, SM465, NP205, D44/FF14bolt on 37's. It's here at my house in Camarillo. Anyways, I'd love to get to know you guys a little better. So maybe I'll see you around sometime.

I still need to find out where the trails are first...... and get a jeep I can run on them.

I have been building the truck since February. It was a total frame off. Cut the back off the frame and started the new motor in may right before we moved. If anyone is interested in seeing it, shoot me a PM and maybe we can talk shop.

Well, anyone that wants to see the J10 is more than welcome to hit me up. I'm always looking to talk Jeep or truck or 4wd. Just shoot me a message and we can go from there. Other than that, I need to pick up another Jeep as I doubt I'll wheel the J10 honestly. Too much work into it to trash it. Not to mention, that they are getting very hard to find in decent shape.

I hear you on that. I have been looking to do a pre 75 j-10 20 or 30. They are defiantly harder to find. The other one that i was looking for was the Cherokee Chief. Just doing the research now. I want to build a j truck dual purpose though. Fast and smooth when I need it but also can crawl slow through the rocks and keep up with other rigs.

most of us are always interested in talking shop and playing with trucks whether its on the trail or in the shop. :drinks:

If you want you can post up a build thread in the members rigs and build thread section its a good way to show off your toys/skills and get some new ideas flowing.

I'd love to talk shop with you guys. And as far as doing a build thread, I literally put it together in about 3.5 months just to get it ready to ship here. I'll scrounge through the pics I have and see what I can do.

As far as a Cherokee Chief, my cousin actually has one he's been trying to sell. Only downside is its back in VA. I swapped in the Buick 350 out of a 1970 Gladiator and the three speed to go with it. But if you wanted I'm sure you could get it pretty cheap, but the shipping would kill you. Ask me how I know, haha. I managed to get a Non-running, no brakes, full size, lifted truck here for 1800 bucks. I don't think that's too bad honestly.

Thats not bad at all. I found a nice J-300 for 1750. If I the cash available I would go get it.
