Ok, finally figured out the posting stuff!

New guy here, but not to wheelin! Started in High School in 1963, and had a 46 GP. Then got an old truck, then in 1983, got my CJ-8! LOOVED my CJ, but hated that stupid Carter carb!! :banghead:
In 1989, I got my first YJ, nad drove the socks off it, including to Ariz, Co, NM, and even Ore, and Washington! Not to mention lots of Nevada trips for the sin city. Then in 1993, got another YJ, a RED one this time, and drove that until 2011 !!
In between I also had a 97, RAM 4X4, with a 360, and my 2001, XJ, which I still have as it is the "Family car. Now since selling both my YJ, and my Ram, I have a TJ, 2006, but it has the squirmy 2.4 PT Cruiser engine. Gutless blunder on road, but the gears make up for it off road.
Oh yeah, I am also an Equestrian, and ride a pure bred Arabian Mare, "Siseley", as well as a "Mutt" type Quarter horse Palomino, named Dusty.
I live in the High Desert area east of Lancaster/Palmdale, so am out in the El Paso's a lot! :yup: :camping:

Yes Beck-a-poo, we do wheel in the Red Rock area pretty often. At least three times a year we go out to the Holland Camp, and stay for a few days to use that as a base to explore places like Last Chance, Bonanza Gulch, and up towards the opal mines. Right now it is a bit too warm out there, but comes October, I'll be looking to be out there for a bit more exploration past the Sheep Springs area, and to find out new ways to enter and leave the mountains. This weekend, there is a trip to the Sherman Pass road, from the Kern River side. They are planning to go from about Cherry Hill Road, to Rattlesnake, and over to Monache Meadow.
I am planning a trip to the Los Padres to camp and explore near half Moon Camp, and over to the Frazier Mtn Tie.

Thanks Desert Dog!!
I have been out to Calico, but since i am at stock height, with no lockers, I don't get into the "Rock Krawling". More into the overlanding, and exploring old stuff, and finding new places to camp and hide out.
Not that anyone is looking for me, just sometimes I don't want to be found. Especially when I am looking for specimen rocks, or doing my photography.

That is one reason I love the red rock area so much. Been going out there since 1953!!
