Any ideas for a run Sunday 3/4/07

Postby 00TJ » February 27th, 2007, 10:39 am

I missed the run last weekend, I hear everyone had a great time. Does anyone have any ideas for a run this coming weekend?

Hope you guys have a good time this weekend!!!

How about I call the Forest service to find out about Salt Creek and the two other trails right on the backside of Frazier Park? I don't of anyone that has been on them and one of them is rated "extreme" the other two are "moderate". Or maybe Breckenridge?

Something around Frazier Park may work for me. I need to stay as close to The OC as possible and my local mountains are a little far for your guys. Frazier Park, although still a trek, is not too bad.

I called and they are not open, nothing will be reopened until mid april but then Lockwood-Miller should be open too..... so I don't know what anyone else is game for, there is Breckenridge, but I have never been and it sounds to be a paved road with little off shoots. All the good trails at red rock canyon are closed till july for some bird bullshit...ooops! If you feel like making a little bit of a drive there is that El Mirage OHV area, it is just east of Palmdale-Lancaster( 125 miles away) or if you are willing to drive that far, we could go to Stoddard Valley ( Just before Barstow) or Calico. so let me know

Well unless anyone has something better this is what we will be doing on Sunday 3-4-07........Rowher Trail outside of Valencia. It is very steep and rutted slickrock with some bigger rocks to climb over, nothing too difficult but it should stilll be fun. We will meet at the dirt lot across from the AM/PM on Panama & 99 at 0800 and leave by 0830( Wes you can meet us at Jack in the Box on Rye Canyon Rd in Valencia, it is in the Home Depot Parking Lot about 1.5-2 miles east of the freeway). If anyone has any objections or would like to change something speak now or forever hold your peace.
