Rubicon!!!! Whos Ready!!!

Postby Dirty LJ » April 12th, 2007, 10:25 pm

Ok, we are going to the Rubicon! We have decided on the Jeepers Jamboree 4-day trip. The dates are July 26, 27, 28, 29, 2007.

You do not have a Jeep to go other vehicles are welcome.

The web site for the event is http://www.jeepersjamboree.com

You will need to buy tickets soon as I have heard this event tends to sell out! As the date gets closer we will decide on when we are going to leave town so that we can all go togther.

I registered a while back and I'm ready to go. Mike C. (00TJ) is registered as well. This trip is AWESOME! I've done it the last two years.

By the way, I believe that this organized event is only for Jeeps. Anything else requires permission from the Jeepers Jamboree Mgmt. I think it is mainly because they offer mechanical support in case of breakdown. By limiting it to Jeeps, it is easier for them to provide this service.

I am signed up as well!!! As of 5-9-2007 there are only 15 spots left for the 4-day trip so you best sign up now if you are still waiting. If you don't have the money for both tickets you can buy the driver ticket only and then add the passenger ticket before the event (per the Jeepers Jamboree) I called Lacey at the Jeepers Jamboree and anything other than full sizes can go. The minimum requirements for vehicles are 33" tires with at least a 3" lift. I asked about the Toyota for you Rich, she said that you can bring it as long as you are aware that there is a good chance for body damage.

As the time gets closer we will need to get together and decide if we want to carpool up or meet somewhere.

Hope to see you on the trail,

I stand corrected. Other vehicles are welcome. I must have gotten this event confused with another one.

I am driving up from The O.C. on Wednesday morning and going straight to Georgetown to check in. Then going back out to Auburn to spend the night at Comfort Suites. Then it's off to the trail early Thursday morning. This is the way we did it two years ago and it worked out well. From Auburn its about 20 minutes to Georgetown and Loon Lake (trail head) is about 45 minutes from Georgetown. So if you stay in Auburn, make sure you're ready to leave early the next morning. Otherwise you can camp free at Robb's Resort which is about 7 miles from Loon Lake.

The trail ride is awesome and you will be very well fed the entire weekend.
