The after wheeling to MFD's Halloween Bash. Who's in?

Figuring we can do something close to Bako.... Freeway, Sherman, Last Chance (not sure how far that one is), or something you guys know of???

Let's do this for sure..... please put your request for the actual trail in your post so we can brainstorm this (Meh... fuck you anti-brainstormers.... this is a RUN in the run's section! :thefinger: )

Also.... we could do a Saturday run. Camp next to the wheeling spot on Friday night and wheel a half day before the party. This would work for me, but assume we'd do Freeway as I believe it is the closest and easiest trail and we'd want that so we didn't miss the party. This option might be best as I have heard about the aftermath of one of DD's parties.

NEED your help because this is YOUR backyard.

And Roger.... especially Roger. I will be there this time!

And.... I forgot that I am an asshole, so here are the requirements.

[*]Proper recovery points, front and rear (wrapping around your bumper/frame/?? is NOT proper).
[*]Serviceable tow strap (NO metal hooks!)
[*]Lots of drinking water (minimum 1 gallon/person/day)
[*]Air source
[*]CB or FRS or GMRS or MURS or HAM radio (I don't care how you talk, as long as you can).
[*]HiLift jack
[*]Serviceable spare

I will be at a birthday party during the day on the 27th.

On the 28th..... :lol3:

we try to have hang-over runs, but I never seem to make them (I guess drinking till 5am has something to do with that).

Hung over okay.

Assume there are some like me that don't normally drink that much and are smart enough to back off cause they know they can't hang with the likes of some of you fawkers.... and walla... sober for the morning.... but like I said, hung over is okay too (if you can hang!?!?). :drinks:

OCT 28 - (freeway / sherman / last chance / ??)

Postby Zak.Taylor » October 11th, 2012, 5:41 am

I'd like to go too. For some reason, when I drink a lot, I wake up at like 7 am, all bright eyed and bushy tailed.....but my whole body hurts. A few gatorades, some greasy breakfast and by noon I'm usually back to normal.

Maybe meet for breakfast and then hit the trails?

Breakfast prior sounds good.... not too late though, I have a four or five hour drive home after this.

I'd love to do this run. Hopefully im off work, my rig is lifted and everything done by then!! Is this run ok for someone new and on 33's? I've done Freeway 100 times on a dirt bike, but never a jeep. Im sure up top near the lil Y up into the pine line and before the piston memorial will be the toughest part. And im sure u stay to right cause the left might be too narrow. If I need to wait and get few other runs under my belt I completely understand. Jeep should be lifted this weekend and then I'll see if lil bro (Mikey) will take me on a trial run to see how it all works. Looking forward to wheeling with u guys. Just don't wanna get too deep over my head right out the gate. But hey I guess I gotta learn some how right?!?! Haha

Come wheel with us!

I'll leave it to the local boys to tell you if you are set up well enough, but my opinion is that if you have the basics covered, you're fine.

Only thing that will slow you down is your open diffs, other than that I have ran it a bunch of times on 31's, at the Y your best bet will be to stay right, it's the route I go, it's easier as long as you can avoid the spike... We can hit up freeway here pretty soon, just let me know, might even be able to do it as soon as next friday.

All will be discussed at MFD's bash..... as I know zero details about Bako.

We might do Last Chance instead.... Josh was saying that it was a good trail and something about being the end of the month and certain parts would be open? Mot sure of the difficulty of the main trail... someone else will have to chime in, but Josh assured me there would be stuff out there to keep me very happy. :wings:

I'll want to get as early as a start as possible. But the Josh will most likely dictate the timing.... as when he's ready to go (i.e. recovered enough from MFD's), we will.
