I have to work late on Tuesday, so camping is out of the question for me, but I am definitely doing the day run.

We should plan to meet at Calico for the run at about 9:00am. This should give the folks camping time to shake off the hangover and eat breakfast, and ensure that we are done early enough so our LA / Oxnard members can get home at a decent hour.

For those leaving Bakersfield on the morning of the 31st, we should meet at the Weedpatch exit off of Hwy 58 at 6:15am (I think it is a Shell station, but i'm not sure). It takes 2 to 2.5 hours to go from Bakersfield to Calico.

Directions to meeting site:
Take Hwy 58 to Barstow, then go east on Hwy 15 toward Las Vegas. Go past Fort Irwin Rd, then past Ghost Town Road and exit the freeway at Calico Rd. Go north on Calico Rd. Go past the first marker post on the right that says "Mule Canyon road". Pull over at the second marker post on the right that says "Doran Scenic Drive". We should meet at this marker post. Meet up at 9:00am.

My cell is 661-619-1385

What do you guys think? Yea? Nay?

Come on Larry you talked us into a Wednesday run, now your ignoring us

Larry, I think Jeremy would keep you company if you had to go solo. Nothing set in stone, we can leave later too if the wife needs some more sleep.

i'll let jeremy know as soon as i know, weve been so busy with my daughters birthday party (and my sleeping) that we haven't been able to talk about it too much. i told her you wanted to meet @ 6:15 but she wanted to know if scott was still camping out the night before. i'll talk to her some more when she gets home and i hope i can give an answer tomorrow. plus i'm waiting on 4 wheel parts to see if they got time to install my (3rd) winch. i know i'm not installing it wrong, just think i got 2 bad winch's. they want to install in & test it before i take it home, i'm suppose to call them on tuesday to see if they have time to fit me in. if not i either go winchless or i install it myself. anyways, i'll let you guys know as soon as i can.

thanks

Larry, you should really consider just getting a Warn and be done with it. My little M8000 has done some nasty pulls. It did a pretty tough pull today! They don't cost that much more than the Smitty. Tell Frank that you no longer trust the Smitty and want something else.

You wont need a winch in Calico, its all tow strap work.

More chances than i would give.

You might as well go with out it. Even when you have it, it's not like you have been able to use it.

I think Larry is just scared that he will get that new T-shirt dirty.

Come on LARRY, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. I don't even bring my winch, never seen one used in Calico, plenty of straps come out though.

PSPS, If you are scared, just be honest with us and yourself and say so, we wont laugh :lol2:

We will catch you on the next run Brad. Did you find a new tie rod yet? BC109 has not been kind to that thing.

Looks like we picked a good window to do Calico. Its going to rain in Bakersfield on Wednesday, but not in Barstow until Thursday.

I will be leaving today around 1:00 pm. I will just find a place to camp(park motorhome) for the night when I get there. If anyone decides to come today, give me a call or look for my motorhome and jeep. My phone number is on the rescue posts.

Night runs are awesome at Calico.
