Opening Sherman July 10th

The Trailblazers and the Gear Grinders (from Ridgecrest) have a run to open up Sherman Jeep Trail on July 10th. The Bakersfield gang goes in from this side and they go in from the other side. There are usually plenty of downed tress blocking the trail that need to be cut, as well as rebuilding washed out water bars after all the storms, so it's a good work day as well as a good run. The ranger said there were still snow drifts up there, this will be the latest date to open the trail that I've seen, it's always opened before 4th of July weekend. It is official, Sherman opening is July 10, 2010. MEET: at Mesa Marin Chevron at 6:30AM and leave at 7:00. BRING: Shovel; food & water for the day; clothes for cooler temps; gloves; camera.

Very interested and even have my own chainsaw. Unfortunately, Ill be on the con then . Are the Trailblazers going to do another Sherman run this summer? I love camping up there.
