Its that time of year again! :salute:

To those of you that went last year it was a great turnout and a lot of fun! The theme is "Flying High With Pride"

I have signed up the group for this year and they are talking about putting WWII Vets with us this year. If you are interested in participating post up here and how many extra seats you will have in your Jeep. The Legion was very impressed by our turnout last year and wasn't expecting us to have as much room as we did. I have talked to the coordinator and they will not make that mistake again so let me know accurate #'s so they can plan on us. :Thumb:

We will also be judged this year, we will be judged on theme, appearance, performance and ability. (I think the two last ones are for bands and color guards)

Here are the details:
Breakfast: American Legion Post 26 starting at 6:00am to 10:00am. $6.00
Flag Raising Ceremony: Veterans Memorial on Truxtan Ave at 8:00am
Parade starts at 10:00am 21st and L St. (same route as last year)
Lunch: 12:00pm American Legion Post 26. $7.00

The Parade at 10:00 is the only thing you have to show up too if you sign up. Everything else is optional. I do recommend being prepared to show up to the parade route at 8:30-9:00 it gets really crowded and hard to get in the closer to 10:00 it gets.

Put me down for 1 (back seat is going to be too hard for vet to get into with my harness bar). I will bring a step-stool so my vet can get in.

Thanks for setting this up GJ :salute: . Are we decorating our rigs?

I'm in for two seats. Itll be a lil tight I'll have my boys baby seat in the middle back. May take the doors off for the day depending on the weather. Hopefully we can have a big turn out like the first night run 15-17 rigs that'll be awesome if we can get even more. Rig will Definitely will be decorated.

We should attach the banner to some PVC pipe and let some of the kids carry it in front of us

Great Idea with to have kids marching with a banner! We could prob have our banner as well as make one thanking the vets.

Start posting ideas on how we can really make a statement decorating our Vehicles.

Put me up as a maybe....

Would anyone be willing to let me store my trail gear in their garage while this happens? If I roll up there, I'd plan on spending the night and heading out to Death Valley the next morning for PVD.

I have plenty of room for trail gear if you need it.

How long does the parade last? This is during the day on Thurs, right? I'd need to take off from work, and I'm already going to be in JV on Fri.

Im in. Does eveyone have to have a seatbelt? If not I can hold a bunch!! No really, I could fit one passenger in front seat(or 2 women), 3 in the back seat, and 12 in the cargo area. Might need a ladder to get them. in.

I was thinking last night, I can bearly get in the Suburban, I dont think It would be wise to have WWII Vets trying to climb in, Maybe I shouldnt be in the parade, I can help where help is needed though.

would it be kosher to climb a rear tire of the guy in front of you if you're stopped for a while?

You know, put on a little more of a show for the people...

Last year we didn't have Vets in our Jeeps and it was super cool! The crowd loved it! I think we will be able too but we will have to be very careful, some of the passengers may not be comfortable with it. We will prob talk about it before hand and try to put Vets in our Jeeps that are comfortable with it.
