Jan 22-23, 2010 will be the 2nd Annual Noob/Ball and Chain Run for Infectious Off-Road out at Hungry Valley SVRA. This run is for all Infectious members and their families, it is a chance to get your significant other to get behind the wheel and see how much fun our hobby/sport really is and why we look forward to all the other runs we go on through out the year. Last years event was alot of fun, I know one wife even went out and get herself a green Jeep so she can have some fun too, last year we had fun playing on the obsticles, good food, drinks, music and stories around the campfire. Lets try to make this event bigger than last year, so who is in?

We will be meeting at the Chevron on Taft HWY and the 99 at 0800 and leave by NLT 0830, I am sure everyone can find it, if you miss us at the Chevron, you will find us at Hungry Valley, CB channel 4, a few people said they will be going on friday, if your coming from places other than the Bakersfield area, we hope to be there at Hungry Valley around 9:30ish, see you all there!!

The Oxnard Chapter will leave Ventura at 0800 sharp. We will meet at the Coffee Bean near Trader Joe's and then head up the 126 and meet with the members from the OC and LA Chapters by 0845 at the Courtyard near Magic Mountain. This should put us in Hungry Valley by 0930 to meet up with the Dalien Chapter and it's redheaded step children from Bakersfield.

Oxnard Chapter:
0800 @ Coffee Bean (across from Trader Joe's)
1780 S Victoria Ave # A, Ventura CA 93003

Pick up point (for OC/LA folks):
0845 @ Courtyard by Marriott (at 126/5 FWY intersection)
28523 Westinghouse Place, Valencia CA 91355

Here is a link for the fees out at Hungry Valley, it looks like $10 for camping, and $5 for day use:

I am in if you think my little Jeep can handle it. While you consider this, please know that my Jeep is my baby and I would just die if it got dirty.

Can someone please describe the difficulty level in this run. I'd like to go for the day. I'll check to see if you have any video from the previous run.

Thanks

1 being driving up your driveway and 10 being rocks as big as your house.... this run is a solid 1.5. As DD stated, 2wd would get you through most of the park.

Any video you find will likely be from the 4x4 play area.... this is just a tiny portion of the park and is the most difficult area by far.

the trails at Hungry Valley are pretty simple, you can pick and choose the obsticles you want to play on, plus there will be some more experianced Infectious members there to help and guide you through, we will do our best to not get your jeep or you hurt.

here is a vid from last year:

Add me, I really wanted to check out the 4x4 practice area and get to know you all. I will see if I can get my son to go along but it may just be for the day but who knows. Is there an area that you all stay at? Could I drag a 5th wheel to the campsite if I decide to stay the night?
:thankyou:

Definately bring the trailer, the area can handle any size. There are no hook-ups but there are pit toilets, fire rings, and picnic tables at each camping area. The Aliklik campground on the south end of the park is the best place to camp and wheel (thats where the 4x4 practice area is).

I don't know if ill be camping this year, but Curtis and I will both be driving our Jeeps for the event.

Scott and Norma are in.
:camping:
Maybe someone that is good at making flyers can make one and upload it, so we can print some and put on jeeps around town. Maybe even put some at 4 wheel parts.
