2011 INFECTIOUS OFF ROAD RUBICON RUN

7/14-7/17
Meeting spot will be the McDonalds parking lot on 7th standard rd. (time to be announced later)

the plan for this run is to drive up there on Thursday and set up camp at one of the campgrounds near the rubicon off of wentworth springs rd.
Chris and Henry are towing their rigs to the Tahoe side of the trail and hopefully meeting up with us at the campground.
on Friday we will get up early and pack up for the rubicon. we need to try to get to the trail head around 7:00am so we can a good early start on the trail before it starts getting crowded. we will run the trail to rubicon springs and camp there for two nights. ($15.00 for 1 to 3 nights per vehicle)
this will give us a chance to check out the rigs for carnage, BS, fish, swim, maybe a night run, and just relax and enjoy each others company.
Sunday we will head up cadillac hill and take a group pic at observation point. after we leave obsevation point we will probably run into a few deep water crossings before we get to the spot where the tow rigs and trailers are. there are bathrooms and dumpsters there so you can "dump" your waste.
and just so you know i'm expecting the trail to be a little wetter than last year due to the heavy snow pack they received this season and maybe even some snow on the trail in some spots so be prepared for it.

i really can't wait for this run!!!! :freakout: :freakout: :freakout:

post up if you plan on going and any suggestions or questions you may have.

here's a map of the trail

Ok, so I was pretty confident that we were going...now not too sure. Larry it was the wag bag conversation that did it. :hitfan: some how the idea of using the restroom in a bag and then carrying it around with us in the jeep has made the wife take another look at going. :owned: We'll have to see how it goes as we get closer........ :dontknow:

If you camp at the Springs, which it looks like you're doing according to the plan, the WAG bags aren't such a big deal since there are johns at the Springs. But, the WAG bags are a pretty sanitary way of dealing with the crap, better than just about every other option.

You should have seen the look on her face when i was explaining how it worked.
if the camp area works that will probably change her mind back. . . I mentioned going by myself but that look was worse than the first. LOL! :kungfu:

Hey James, let Gloria know that we plan on camping the first night at campground that has toilets. Then we will be driving to rubicon springs where there are toilets. The last day there will be toilets at the spot we air up and the other guys load their rigs on their trailers.

The wag bags turn liquid into a gel it does something to the poop and controls the oder, plus it's double bagged.

So pretty much the wag bag is used incase of emergency so we're not littering the trail.
