Tilly and myself will be out there around 8am, if you're interested let me know so we set a meeting location. Narrow canyons good rock crawling. This should be a good turnout, maybe 5-7 rigs.

Trail looks to be fun.... not too hard, not too easy (although I am not sure what is going on with that white heep?).

Here is a recent post by Robert (kingsize, who, since now lives in BAKO, isn't a member?), on MJR:

[color=#FFFF80][i]Shredder Canyon Run

*******This is for the guys who don't mind body damage******

Where:
Shredder Canyon, Antelope Valley

<< meetup location and time removed >>

Vehicle requirements:
33's or bigger (unless you're a REALLY good driver)
Rear Locker & LSD front (two lockers preferred)
Rock Rails (or a lack of concern for your rockers)
Tow points Fr/Rr (of course)
Spare Parts, Extraction tools, Hi-Lift, Working SB

Trail description:

The scenery is less than spectacular, unless you dream of living in Palmdale, but the trail is awesome. It gets hot in Palmdale so bring water & regular supplies. The trailhead is about 30 minutes north of San Bernardino up the I-15 and across SR138.

If your rig meets the minimums & you've been dying to wheel a hard- core rock trail, this is it. If you can run Shredder than you're pretty well setup for Johnson Valley, which is why this is a good test run.

Additional info:
Day run only.

Last I heard, Shredder Canyon was closed and fenced by the property owner a couple years ago, and he has trespassers arrested. The High-Desert 4-Wheelers used to have club runs there all the time with the owners permission, but the owner stopped giving them permission. This is what I was told by a member of the High-Desert 4-Wheelers when I was trying to plan an Infectious run there last year. He also told me that it is a fun trail but very short, and their club Jeeps make it on 33s with lockers. He said that they also call the trail "Santiago's Revenge" or something like that.

I asked Kingsize about this trail 8 months ago, and he indicated that he knows the property owner from his Genright days.

I would get this straightened out before driving all the way out there.

ALSO: it will be hotter then hell :dontknow: ( just sayin) we took 6 rigs out to red rock last saturday evening, wheeled into sunday morning. when we had enough, we through down a sleeping bag, got up when we felt like it, had some coffee & a bologna sandwich , headed over to jawbone store and aired up, and drove home. no driving under the influence ( not on pavement anyways ) no suffering through the heat of the day, and no falling asleep behind the wheel. I guess what i'm trying to say is: THE NIGHT SHIFT WORKS FOR ME !!! i didn't get to many hits on the "big bear" trip (where it's nice and cool ) so lets do the Night Shift !!!

Hope you can make it.

Interesting. I vaguely recall him talking about this spot one time I saw him on the trail. He was saying he wanted to go run it, but he never got a hold of me to follow up? Maybe I have my wires crossed and he was talking about something else or just reminiscing? I am drunk half the time, so I have no idea.

Anyways... Mark, any info on this?

Night shift equals night run?

The forecast out there does look like shit.... but under triple digits. So while it is TOO hot, it's not undo-able heat. Shit.... do you live in BAKO? Likely worse there. PLUS.... if we hit the trail early and have no issues, we'll be out before noon, before the high point in the day.

permission from property owner is required, to run this trail, otherwise he does call the police on people that don't ask well before hand.

Yep, I was told that people were vandalizing his property constantly and he is afraid that an off-roader will get hurt and sue him. He pretty much calls the sheriff when he sees a dust cloud on the property.

B-rad, I was with you when Kingsize mentioned that. We were on Miller for the opener.

Ah... I thought I heard him talk about it.

Anyways... maybe Mark has an Ace up his sleeve and has already arranged this.
