I won't be able to make it. Prior commitment to work on a Black Gulch. I was in Shaver for new years and talk to group that tried to go in. The road to Bald Mountain of Dinkey creek rd. was not cleared. They never got close to the trail head before they started getting stuck.

 GOOD LUCK
post some pics when you get back

hmm....

We would love to go but Ruth has a job interview in Las Vegas this weekend. Let us know how it was and post some pictures. Maybe next time we will be able to make it.

The meeting place is on the corner of Hwy168 and Dinkey Creek Rd in Shaver Lake, Old Shell station, liquir store on the other corner. Both on the righthand side of 168. Shaver Lake is east of Fresno. There is several different ways to get there. I exxit 99 in Traver and take the back way up. I would Map Quest the route if you have not been to Shaver before.

:-)

The last post i saw was 9:15 in Shaver. I'm wokring on Freeway Ridge/Black Gulch making water breaks so i can't make it. With this storm i don't link you will be able to get to the trail head.I could be wrong, Shaver is 5800ft and Bald Mountain is around 7000ft. It's a 3 hr 45mn drive give or take a 1/2hr depinding on how fast yo drive and witch way you go. Thats a long day trip.

The trail is going to be hammered. They have gotten over 2 ft of new snow. I went up last weekend and it was fun, not going now. It will be rough. Going to Nightmare gulch instead.
