VETERAN’S DAY PARADE FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2011 (Bakersfield)
[color=#FF0000]Our entry number is 30. We are to report on Friday Nov 11,2011 at 0900. Entry numbers 1-31 will enter the staging area on 22nd st. from Chester ave. We must decide on who will be in the lead and put out number on the left side so the judges know who we are. [/color]

American Legion Post #26 and the Veterans Organizations of Kern County inviteeveryone to join in a salute to Veterans of all our world conflicts by participating in our 92nd annual Veteran’s Day celebrations with a parade at 10:00 am on Friday, November 11, 2011.
We hope your organization will participate in helping our community celebrate the day set aside to honor the men and women who have served in one or more wars/conflicts protecting our freedoms If you wish to participate please fill out the attached form or you can pick one up at the American Legion Hall, 2020 H Street or call the number below.
The theme of the parade this year will be “Veterans, Guardians of Freedom”. The parade will be categorized and judged in the following divisions:
Veterans, Military, Youth, Community/Fraternal, Jr. ROTC & Military Youth,
Color Guards, Car/Motorcycle Clubs and Special Categories, including
Cheerleaders, Drill Teams with bands, and Drill Teams without bands.
Each division will be judged separately regarding theme, appearance, performance and ability. The awards will be presented to the winners in each division. THE CEREMONY WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 2:30 P.M. It would be nice to have a member present to represent your organization at the ceremony.
You are invited to join in the festivities of the day, which include the following:
6:30 a.m. - Breakfast at American Legion Post 26 - Cost $6.00
8:00 a.m. - Flag Raising Ceremony - Veterans Memorial onTruxtun Ave.
10:00 a.m. - Parade starts at 21st and L Streets, using the same parade route
as last year. Disbanding PAST the corner of 20thand M St.
You will NOT BE ABLE TO TURN RIGHT OR LEFT BEFORE NST.
12:00 p.m. - Lunch following the parade at American Legion Post 26[/color]

Throwing anything from the parade is strictly forbidden. Do not pause along the parade route, you have 30 seconds at the judges stand - NO MORE, and you must maintain an interval between groups of no more than 50 feet. Your group will be disqualified from competition if this rule is violated in any way.[/color]
