JV trip Nov 19-20, who's going and what do you want to run?

So, who's going and what do you want to run? Maybe we can get a couple of Infectious trail runs lined up ahead of time. There will be other folks to hook up with, also. I'm trying to get someone to lead a sightseeing/stocker run.

There will be burgers for diner on Sat around 6:30. Donations for dinner will go to support the new KOH stock class race effort.

I'll post directions if anyone needs them. We'll be camping on the lakebed, about 4 miles down Boone Rd off of Hwy 247.

Bigigfoot and I are going.

Bigfoot wants to do some of the moderate stuff, Im down for anything - just can't wait to get back on the trail. We are hoping to be there by 9:00 AM on Saturday.

I also have about 6 rigs from JKO going that want to do moderate to extreme, and maybe a couple of freinds from the central coast with Jeeps on 40s that want to do some difficult (but not impossible) stuff.

Hopefully, you have a good night run planned

There is always a night run on Clawhammer on Fri night, and a night run on Sledge on Fri night. Sat night you'll just have to get me out of my chair after a few beers and say "let's go!" We could do Sledge, or Resolution.

Chris, we'll just have to see what we want to run on Sat. It depends on what we'll have run on Fri (probably SOS). Maybe down Outer Limits and up Spooners, or Wreaking Ball and Hwy 19-20. We'll see. Sunday we can see who wants to do what.

We are going. In fact we might head up either Thursday or early Friday since we both have the time off. That being the case do we need to rope off an area, we've never been so any help on where would be great and let us know about camping spot. Thanks!!!

Awesome, I may go on Friday night then. Probably no need to rope off sites, that lake bed camps 20,000 during the King of hammers! Just be prepared for very cold nights. Fire wood will need to be brought out there (there are no trees). Be sure to top off at the gas station in Lucerne before you make the left turn, thats your last chance to get gas.

I'm leaving Thurs after work, so you can look for us. We'll be out on the trail on Fri depending on when you get there. Look for my brown and white crew cab F350 with the Lance camper, plus a couple white toy haulers, big motorhomes, at least one other F350 and Lance camper, we'll all be there Thurs. When you get to the lakebed look for us to the left.

If you can bring firewood that's good, we can burn through a lot of firewood out there. Weather is unpredictable, it could be real nice during the day, likely to be cold at night, and the wind can come up anytime.

Perfect, thanks for the info. I will see what we can dig up for fire wood. We will have our 5th wheel this trip so we will be sure and find you so we can stay in the fray and maybe circle the wagons for wind block. I can't wait!!!

Careful on.SOS that trail has been a two day event both times we've tried it. Both time ending.up leaving a rig or two at the enterance over.night and spending.all day geting.it out. Once. We had a guy loose his bottoms end in.his motor on.the last obsticle and.had a.roll over breaking off the intake manifold. Broke ring and pinion. Broken rear out put. Cracked fuel cell. And IV broke a 30 splinter.longfield. Lots of carnage on.that trail. Sooo if all goes well. I should be.out.there Friday afternoon. Don't.know.if.ill wheel.with any.of u. I got two other guys coming.with me. Were planning on. Up claw down wrecking ball up Bender alley down Jack north up Jack down.sledge chocolate thunder reso. Up lower and upper big Johnson and down.boulderdash. and back on.the rd.back home by 3 in.the afternoon

So, you think we can't handle it?

We ran about half of it two years ago, but it got dark and we didn't know how long it was or where it came out, so we turned around and came back down in the dark. Of course, we didn't leave camp until 3:30 and were going to do a quick run up Turkey Claw but thought, what the heck, let's take a look at SOS. A lot more people have run it since then, but we haven't been back to it. Gotta check it out.

You gonna run all those trails in a row, or stop in camp and have some lunch and a few beers, and then head out again?

Na. What I'm saying is be careful. And not that many more people have run it. And the two spots at the top are very difficult.
And the last one is a mofo. U need throttle and sticky tires. And hope u don't land in the hill. And where the roll over is. Is loose dirt and loose rocks at the bottom. And u need momentum and throttle otherwise ur not gonna make it. I'm staying away from that trail for a long while
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fapFMos_gsY

I have no idea what u guys plan on running it in. But if they aren't built its not gonna be fun at the end and no amount of rock stacking is gonna help at the top and there's very little winch points

On that note. No we probably won't stop back at the lake bed we brinng lunch and beers with us.

We don't stack rocks.

We all have buggies and 40" stickies. Been on tough trails all over the west, and have a KOH top 10 finish in my buggy. I've been waiting for another shot at that trail when we have time to finish it. I just watched the video of the roll, that's the spot we got to when it got dark (didn't start till late), and decided we didn't know what was ahead, so we turned around and came down from there in the dark. We had about 6 rigs, all buggies.

Hope you stop by camp so we can meet and visit. :drinks:

From talking at the meet and greet, it looks like an Infectious run up Jackhammer on Sat. Who's in for that, and who needs to run something easier?

I think Chris and Josh will join us for whatever we do on Sat.

That video he hesitated. That was the result. Ya. If u guys start earlier enough. U guys should be done by 3 or so. If u don't have any mishaps. After that spot there's really only one.more challange. And its a pretty good one. Ull see when u get to it.
And to Mickey. If u have a Dana 30. U might wanna stick to something easy like backdoor :thefinger:
