Okay.... time for me to plan another run. :camping:

Seeing we will have run JV's better know area two week prior, lets do Cougar Buttes. It is a little easier than the Hammers, but plenty of fun for sure with optional lines to keep our craziest buggies happy.

The plan is to meet out there on Saturday, late morning. Saturday we will hit the Hammer Down trail (this will be the hardest of the bunch).... then setup camp and have a good time all night. Sunday morning, we'll get up and do Bullfrog and Crazy 8, before we head home.

Meet up at the Bullfrog trailhead between 11am and noon.
That should put us on the trail around noon and give plenty of time to wheel, break, and be back to camp before dark.

If you want to come only Sunday.... cool. I'll send someone to the hardball (on Camp Rock Road and the 247) to meet the folks that are coming Sunday. Meet there at 8 am, ready to go. That will give us time to get to camp, get the rigs unloaded, and be on the trail around nine.

Remember guys... daylight savings is ending and we will lose a lot of daylight.... figure it will be dark around 5 pm, so we want to get a good early start.

All that being said, if there is no one that wants to go on either Saturday or Sunday, we can adjust the schedule to maximize turnout.

RIG REQUIREMENTS
Tires
[*]35s for the Hammer Down trail.
[*]33s the Crazy 8 and Bullfrog trails.
Lockers
[*]both ends for Hammer Down
[*]at least one end preferable for the other trails, but not necassary
Recovery
[*]recovery points, front AND rear (proper, bumper/frame wrap is not safe)
[*]air source
[*]serviceable spare
[*]snatch strap with no metal hooks
[*]hi-lift jack
Safety
[*]radio (don't car ewhich, but at least one of the following: CB, FRS/GMRS. HAM)
[*]water (minimum one gallon per person, per day)
[*]first aid kit

For those that don't have the equipment for Hammer Down, you are welcome to come hang out, party, and watch.

Put me and becca as a maybe have to Check schedule to confirm, if we have enough time I can lead us into awesome canyon wich is just south of landers or another trail near crazy 8 that was tracked out about 2 years ago...

I personally love the cougar buttes trails, bypasses and optional lines everywhere, can bring a wide vatiety of vehicles and all have fun

I want to try the wall in cakewalk Almost near the end, only seen two rigs make it...

Oh and when we meet can meet at camp rock and hwy247, and pick up sunday peeps there

How would a JKU with 2" lift, 35's and LSD fare on these trails?

I took my old friend Randy here once and he thought the trails to be difficult in his rig (JKUR on 37s). Personally I do not feel they are that rough.... but my opinion should be taken with a grain of salt. You should be okay with the easy lines on Bullfrog and Cakewalk, the other trails will give you problems with no locker.

35's on a yj is a lot better than 35's on a JKU, but we've got tow points! My bday is 12/5...that'd be a cool bday trip

Seen quite a few jk's out there most problem you will have is some of the high center spots.

Last time I was there Mark got hung up several times on 37” tires and 4door.

Really though its a great place for just about any rig first time there was on 33 with just a front locker and did Almost every main obstacle.

I remembered the other trail name that i know of is ”on the rocks” its about bullfrog and cakewalk difficulty about a 10 min dive from crazy 8, was a couple cool spots that i rmember, the chalenge would be remembring where the trail head is.

Boy.... you need to go get indoctrinated into the JKU world. Nothing is better.... just ask any soccer mom. Hmm.... any of your kids play soccer?

I'd say you were very wrong..... with some slight exceptions, this is the best wrangler platform they have built to date. Even with the anemic engines. Straight from the factory of course, because in the end, what we do to our rigs, we could have all started with Yogos and Subarus and come up with capable rigs.

Fuck yeah man.... point me to a picture so I can remember you and your rig. The more the merrier and you all have been added to the list. This should be a good time!

That sucks! We'll miss you.

I am still awaiting a brake line.... hope to see it today or tomorrow. Other than that, I think my rig is ready. (although I picked up some wake tower speakers to wire up... but lack of music hasn't stopped me recently. :) )

Just a heads up for those still going. I am having issues obtaining the brake lines. I just canceled a second order and am trying 4WP now.... hopefully they can turn around in less than two weeks.

Thanks Chris.... I sent you a PM.

Now... boys, I might have a issue. No brake line, no shipping confirmations either? Doesn't mean it hasn't shipped.... but I don't know. If Chris sent me the line tomorrow, I'd have it on Friday to install, but I don't have any time Friday with company coming to visit.

Let's hope I see it tomorrow... otherwise I might be out of my own run.

Bummer about the brake line. Im still planning on going cause I love that place, hate the crowds (bikes and quads) but digg the wheelin. If you go abendx or anyone from Infectious, where do u plan on staying near the crappers or farther south, as I said Im gonna go Friday after my daughter gets outta school. Like to meet up with you guys if I can.
