Weird... No KOH thread?

Well I see Matt's, but that's not exactly what I was talking about.

If you come out, trust me on this, bring firewood... Fill your truck up, sell your guns and redneck teens to obtain as much as possible.... Basically, I want to see a 10x10x10 stack of wood in camp.

Nobody really goes anymore. The tent guys are miserable and the RV guys are sick of the crowds. Watching the event sucks ass now and you see more action on the live feed online. Camping out there during race week sucks IMO. If I wanted to be elbow to elbow with a bunch of assholes from SoCal, I will just go visit Brad in the Nard :thefinger:

Add to this the fact that the BLM, Sheriffs Department, CHP, State Parks, and DOT will all be out there to get a piece of the ticket-revenue gold rush. They were writing tickets for no tail lights on Buggies, citing race cars for their flashing lights for "impersonating law enforcement", setting up DUI checkpoints on all major roads, walking through camps checking registration and green stickers, writing tickets for having glass bottles on the lake bed (including hard alcohol), DOT weighing tow rigs at the entrance to Boone Rd, and nit-picking every rig out there to get that promotion for writing the most tickets. 3 law enforcement agencies went through our camp last year looking for reasons to write tickets. This alone is plenty reason to stay away.

I know Jeff is going out for the main race for the day, but not wheeling, and I am going to be out there on Tuesday to watch Matt do his time trial and cheer for him, then going home - but I think that is it.

The last couple years has really turned me off on this race. I would rather go to a WEROCK or CalRocks event and watch some real rock crawling in a spectator friendly event. I might run into you on Tuesday if you are still going to be out there.

I heard on KOH1 yesterday that the CHP was writing tickets for buggies with flashing lights for impersonating emergency vehicles. Won't be long before the DUI / registration checkpoints are set up and they start going from motorhome to motorhome looking for revenue.

My son and I made it out here just after dark. Holy chit! I never imagined there'd be so many people. Looks like a pretty cool setup. As far as cops, it can 't be any worse than the average weekend at Pismo.

Yep. I'm never going to this event again. I was horrified to watch 4 different LE agencies go from tent to tent and RV to RV looking to write tickets and impound vehicles. Several people I know got tickets last year. One of the JKO guys got an open container ticket because he picked up a couple beer cans that were left on the trail by someone else and threw them in a trash bag in his Jeep - the guy doesn't even drink! I take vacation time to get away from assholes like that.

That's pretty shitty. This event generates huge amounts of sales tax revenue for the state. I saw 4 CHP leaving hammer town. Wtf are 4 cops doing 10 miles north of a 2 lane highway, on a dirt road??? Bad Faith.

Today 3 blm rangers with a canine came and "talked" to a spectator because he (along with 50 others) cursed out a driver at back door who ran over another spotter.
