Postby casaintsfan » August 4th, 2009, 5:07 pm

What do you guys think about a annual infectious rubicon run?
we can set a couple of dates and and see what works best for everybody.
Go ahead and post some dates that work for you. I know it's hot but summer works best for me.
Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks
Larry

Yea I agree with the early summer one. June 10-july or so. As long as school is out and it's early in summer I can go.

I am going to start planning this, who is in. The more accurate of a number the better. If we want we can run a few trails on the way or just go straight to the Rubicon. If we have a large group it may be best to grab a hotel in placerville and the hit the trail first thing in the AM. That way we get tot he springs and set up came. If you are worried about your rig, come n out, lets put beating on it. Larry did great! Only request, in an effort to make it enjoyable for all, lets have AT LEAST 33" tires and at least ONE locker. It is not a lot of fun if the entire trip is a recovery mission! Lets get a tally on who is in (For sure)--post up Larry.

What's good date? Late June to avoid the jamboree? Let's try to set a date ASAP, I have to pick my vacation dates in November for next year.
Hey Luke, what are the dates for spring break? Might take that week off too.

We do an annual run with My Jeep Rocks every July. it is always the same weekend of the month. nest year will be 16-18. We camp at the trail head of Loon Lake and hit the trail Friday morning about 0730. We go all the way to Rubicon Springs and camp Friday night and Saturday night. Head up Cadillac Hill Sunday morning and head home after that. We had 12 rigs in 3 groups this year. All left at different times and we all met up at the Springs. Everyone here is definately welcome to join us next year. This has been an annual trip since 2003.

those dates will be used for the Rubicon or the Dusy Ersham. We have been thinking about doing Dusy instead of the Rubicon this year because most of us have not done the entire trail.

Man I want to do Dusy...but it looks like the dates you are throwing out there are the dates I'll be on my vacation to Green Bay, WI.
We leave the last week of June and return middle of July. Then in Aug we head to Crescent City for a week. Damn, maybe 2011...........

i vote for anytime except the jamboree! I have always heard it is hectic out there when ever there is a big event. I dont think it would be any fun having to wait 2 hours to go up a tougher section. Just my 2 cents though

Jamboree is very expensive and very slow going. Some people don't get into camp until midnight.

I have heard the same thing Al. Does not sound like what I want to do. I would rather go with a small group.
