Shaver Lake Snow Run Feb 20

Postby castor07jk » January 18th, 2010, 10:24 pm

As most of you know I'm a member of the Bakersfield Trail Blazers. I was chosen to lead the February run. So I choose to do a snow run up Bald Mountain out of Shaver Lake. This is not limited to the Trail Blazers, everyone here is welcome to come up. Bring the kids and sleds. Saturday night we plan on having a get together for :drinks: and BBQ after the run at my dads cabin. I'm working on getting info for Motel and Cabin Rentals. Of coarse you could always :camping: . When I get more info i will up date

This is also the same weekend as the Cal4Wheel convention.

You might miss the call for the jeep!

This run maybe canceled. Shaver has gotten 4 ft so far and more to come tonight and tomorrow.I don't think we would ever make it up Rock Creek Road to the trail head. My dad is going up to the cabin tomorrow to dig in and clear the drive way. He'll up date me then.

why cancel the run??? It is a month away. By then the snow will be packed down. We do snow runs up there all the time.

It's not officially canceled yet. The 6th and the 20th are the only dates that works well for me. since I'm the trail leader for Feb. it maybe a go.
This is a Bakersfield Trail Blazers run which is open to all. So i invited the Infectious group to come along. The Trail Blazers club members were asked to have a good showing at the convention.

There is more snow coming. I've never done a snow run on Bald. With all this snow, can we actually get on the trail not just Rock Creek road on the 6th or the 20th?

If you do it the 20th, I would say you will have no problem doing part of the trail. Will you make it to the tower???? i doubt it, but you can get pretty far. The 6th will be pushing it because that is a little over a week away. I'm sure some of the Hanford Trail Busters would be willing to show you the way up the trail.

We would go, but we will be in Sac that weekend for the Cal4Wheel convention.

Have fun in the snow, and we expect pictures.
