Adopt-A-Trail Cleanup of Freeway Ridge 3-24-07

Postby Dirty LJ » March 12th, 2007, 7:50 pm

The Trailblazers will be going up Freeway Ridge Sat March 24.

This run will have the sole purpose of cleaning and maintaining the trail. This is necessary to keep this trail open as well as all the trails in the area. People are going up Freeway and making there own trails. This is being done by the motorcycles that go up there as well as the 4X4's. If you see people doing this unnecessarily tell them to stop. The tree huggers are looking for any reason to close our trails. We all use this trail and would hate to see it closed because we were “too busy” to help out.

You will need to bring tools, lunch and your vehicle to get a little wheeling in on the side. 8)

This is a very important run. If you can make it please go and help out.

Is there any large junk that needs to be removed? I'll try to make it if you can use a hauler. Of course, I'll need some place to dump it. I don't need any more junk around my housejavascript:emoticon('8)').

Hey Guys,

I'll be there, I helped tear it up, so I'll be there to fix it up. Robert, thanx for the hook up on the tires, they're like brand new. G.J. I'll take me one of them purdy stickers too. I carry a shovel and an axe, but if there are any other tools I need, let me know.

I was thinking more along the lines of large junk used for target practice. I took out a bed full of stuff that looked like swiss cheese at the Calico cleanup last month.

If your talking boulders it helps to know a couple of folks with Unimogs -

Bruce, I am not sure how big the boulders are that need to be moved. But any help is more than welcome! Awesome picture 8) Thanks!

Josh, I think what you have should be fine.

Everybody is meeting at the Chevron next to the old Mesa Marin at 7:30am. They will then leave for the trail at 8:00am.
