Group needs your support to help stop closures 5/24

It has always been my hope that people who enjoy different forms of recreation and land use, could work together to bring balance to land use plans, instead of the usual closures.

I am extremely pleased to tell you about a giant step forward. A group of people in the Kern Valley representing a wide spectrum of interests shown below, have decided to formally work together to support shared land use and multiple use in all forms.

Off Roading
Horse Riding
Mountain Biking
Fishing
Conservation
Kayaking/Boating
Camping
Homeowners
Chambers of Commerce

This kind of cooperation is unprecedented here and most other places.

They will be an official Citizens Advisory Committee under the law of Coordination. They will work with Federal and State Agencies to help ensure that our economic, social and cultural interests are given greater consideration in all future plans.

I am pleased to be the Chair of this newly formed Citizens Advisory Committee, but we need your support for it to succeed. The people who have pitted us against one another all these years will probably try to derail this Committee and discredit the good folks who have volunteered their time to serve the community.

I hope you will attend the Town Hall meeting on 5/24 at 6pm at the Oddfellows Hall at 50 Tobias Road next to Circle Park in Kernville, to learn more about the Coordination process and how it can help preserve access. If you are in the area please come and support this very important effort, which can benefit not only public access, but also forest health.
