Rock light mounting

Soooo I picked up 3 12v work lamps from harbor freight the other day so I can get some light under the jeep. For a $12 lamp they kick out quite a bit of light and have a very wide pattern, like a flood lamp. One is going on the spare tire facing the back for a backup light and the other 2 Im thinking of using as rock light. One mounted in the back facing the front and one in the front facing the back to help spread the beam out. These are 5" diameter with a thick rubber outer shell so I think they would work pretty good at taking hits from small road rocks plus they are only $12 each. The only places I have found to easily mount them is on the back of the rear pumpkin and the front passenger lower control arm. Im concerned with vibrations from those places.....the rear one would take a lot of abuse sense it wont have any shocks/spring to dampen the hits. I would rather put them on the frame somewhere but there are no good spots that will allow for a good beam and are protected.....

So what are you guys using for rock lights? These are a little big and I can always take them back, but I havent found any cheap flood lamps like these anywhere for a good price....Someday I will end up getting LED Vision lights but I dont have $120 to blow atm. Any thoughts on these locations?

I own a JK 2door btw
Thanks
Ryan,

Well I got my backup light mounted up, still need to do a permanent wiring job but I tested it and am impressed with how much light its putting out along with the beam pattern.

The black is the thick rubber that goes around the entire body with one hole made for the wire. Im thinking of making it a little more water proof by just stuffing the hole with some silcone and going around the lens with some clear high temp sealent or silcone.... It has a H3 55 watt bulb in that I can upgrade to 100watt but I think I will have to run a new wire as the one coming out of the light is very thin, maybe like 18gauge crap. For $12 Im pleased with the performance and construction.

Those Ebay lights seem a little overpriced to me for what you get..here are the VisionX tantrum LEDs that I would like to pickup some day (Christmas?).

$120 for 8 lights plus it comes with a remote and sound interface for strobes effect that beats with the music.
