Rebuilding Saginaw Steering box???

Postby CJNewbie » June 25th, 2012, 8:31 am

My steering box is leaking and I am trying to decide if it is better to rebuild the steering box or to buy a new one from oriely for $150 with lifetime warranty, the kit is about $30. How difficult are these to rebuild or is is just better to buy one and call it good? I there a decent upgrade without spending too much more?

If you're going to keep the Jeep and wheel it with bigger tires then I would only consider a quality rebuilt box from one of the aftermarket steering companies like PSC. It's worth the few extra dollars. They do a few things that make the box hold up better than a parts house reman steering box.
