More suspension info?

Ok assuming distance from axle to mounting point on the frame is the same in both is there an advantage to 4 link over 3 link? Advantages/disadvantages? Would one work better than the other in front vs rear application? Also has anyone ever used airbags instead of coils then you have the option of airing up or down each corner depending on the obstacle you are facing?

Both have some advantages and disadvantages. A triangulated 4 link allows you to not run a track bar.
I'm suddenly lazy and don't feel like writing anymore. I'll get back to this.

I would also like to know any big advantages and disadvantages. Doing one of those setups on the jeepster and havent decided wich one yet. I think 4 link is better at high speeds, so Im thinking of going that route.

What's the application, and what are your build goals?
A 3 link in the front is very simple to get good link geometry, especially in a Jeep. It's very difficult to get good geometry with a front 4 link in a Jeep. There is no advantage to a 4 link, so it's not worth the hassle and design complexity.
The rear could go either way, depending on what you're building for. For pure rock crawling a 3 link is superior, for pure go fast a 4 link is better. A 3 link will still work for go fast, ask Shannon Campbell who's won 2 King of the Hammers with 3 links.
I'm assuming you're asking about a triangulated 4 link, or a 3 link which has a single upper arm and a panhard bar.

I'm still gathering parts but by 3 link rear I mean 2 lower arms and a Y style upper link. The application is under a sidekick. It's my daily driver. Not looking for a pure rock rig just a good reliable trail worthy rig to hunt and play with. Only looking to clear 33's max. I would like to pretty much be able to do trails like freeway difficulty maybe a bit more moderate solo with no worries. Since obviously you don't hunt in trail convoys lol.
