Shock mount

Hey, I tore the rear shock mount apart on my YJ. Ripped the top mount hole out. Any one know of any upgrades available? I wasnt doin in real wheelin when It ripped. I could plate it and keep usin it but IM thinkin I need to upgrade..any help is greatly appreciated

the stud mount ripped off frame or ripped shock eye open?

It ripped the shock eye open. I guess I coulda been more detailed. If I had a welder it would be an hour or two fix.

Well to prevent it again, i would say check travel of rearend versus shock length, shock eyes shouldnt have stress enough to rip apart unless something else is wrong

Use 1/4" steel mounts rather than the thin factory ones = problem solved.

I agree with both the Snake and the Dog, shock length being the biggest part of the issue.
