Axle Shafts

Hey guys,
I got some new axle shafts and was assembling them so that I can install them and it seems that the shafts need additional machining so that I can get the Ujoints in. Is this normal? Im going to contact the vendor tomorrow but wanted to see if you guys had seen this sort of thing?

One of the outers was ok. The other I think I can make work with just a couple passes of a file. Both inner shafts are goning to need about 1/16 removed off of each ear to get the U-joint in.

Heard back from 10Factory. They said its normal and gringing/sanding/filing them for clearance wont void the warranty. Guess Im doing some grinding when I get home from work.

Its normal with brand new shafts sometimes. Actually, I have found that u-joint tollerances sometimes vary between manufacturers too.
10 Factory is a good company, makes a quality product, and stands behind it. I wouldn't worry.

Went with 10-Factory, they are the only ones Ive seen that will warranty a bent flange which is why my rears are getting changed out. The front passenger shaft exploded a couple months ago on BC109 and Ive been running on a borrowed one since. Not sure where I bent the passenger rear axle but its been that way since fall so Im thinking maybe the Swamp Lake trip did it.
I got them from Northridge4x4. All four shafts plus the tone rings and keeper plates and had them press the rears together for $1100.00 shipped.

Im a little bummed cause it was supposed to be my big rubber money but Its apparently necesary with this pig of a Jeep. I honestly didnt think I abused it that bad but the stock axles thought otherwise.

RCV has a ZERO questions asked warranty which I have exercised twice without fail, but these shafts cost considerably more than others.

Yeah.... to my second point, a set of RCVs is running me around 3k.... and that's nothing but the shafts and the joints.
With smooth as butter turning and no real worries of taking out a ball joint, I love that yota looking love up front and decided to match the rear.

Right I really wanted to go RCV but it was way outside my budget. I think it was $1200.00 just for the fronts. Hopefully these will work out ok for when I finally get 37's.

Money gets in the way of all good plans!
The price of admission jumps considerably with the bigger axles... I was shocked to see the set of RCVs for the 60 more than twice that for a 44. But damn man.... they work good.
The axles you got are good ones.
