Loud bang happening sometimes, on truck

Im getting a loud bang that I can feel with my 73 C20 that I cant pinpoint. Its coming toward the back like right under me. Could it be the leaf spring be doing it? usually does it while Im turning really hard and flexing a tiny bit, like going up the driveway. Everything looks perfect under the truck....

Check your leaf spring bolts. The one in the middle of the leaf pack they do break once and awhile.

thanks! will do.

Was redoing the fuel lines and found one leaf hanger had a bolt almost completely backed out. That wasnt the problem though cause its still doing it and I cranked them all down tight.

Do you have a locker in the rear?

Old Detroits (pre-2004 I believe) are brutal on the street.

Or worse, GM started using the dreaded "Gov Lock" in 73 trucks which were very bad about doing what you describe.

I had the same problem before. And yes its was the leaf spring bolt that cam loose. After re tightening it strange sound disappeared. I also instead o sulee suspension cushion. It added more damping cushion to the leaf spring.
