So I am finally getting close to needing new tires!

Here is the question.....What are really good off road tires that are decent on the street?

I keep hearing that the KM2's are fantastic but they run small. How much smaller do they run? are they small enough to go to a 37" without much problem?

Lets get a good informative discussion that can help others that may have this dilemma as well.

havent had a problem with the MT toyos so far. Come sipped, are aggressive and still pretty damn quiet. They are just expensive and heavy from what I hear. They run small as well, 35"s are more like 34"s and if you go bigger then that they seem to get really wide as well. May not be the best, but have yet to loose a bead and have had good luck with them.

Im gonna go 37 KM2's I dont care if they run small they are a great tire in everything but ice(not siping). If you really want true 37's then get the 38's but they are really expensive.

I agree... my 33s look tiny lol but km2s r good tires

MT/r lasts a long time on the street and runs true to size. Great all-around traction. Problem is that the sidewalls are weak.

KM2 is a great tire in the rocks and on dry pavement. They suck in wet / icy conditions and run very small. 33" MT/r's look bigger than 35" KM2s. So if you pay the extra $150 per tire to get 37" KM2's, you are getting way overpriced 35s.

The Toyos run almost true to size, wear good on the street, and give good all-around traction on the street on trail. They also have tough sidewalls. The quality is better than Goodyear and BF Goodrich, but they are a little more expensive and heavy.

The Maxxis radial treps give horrible traction on the trail and wear fast on the street, but run almost true to size.

Irok. Good trail performance, but hard to balance, wears very fast, and is loud on the freeway.

Don't think about General Grabbers, unless you want to rely on your winch for easy obstacles. These tires run just as small as the KM2's.

Pitbulls suck in the rocks and on the street.

ProComp. Good street tire, OK off-road, but runs small and is overpriced for a generic tire.

Micky Thompson MT. Great quality tire that does good on the street and trail. Can get expensive and hard to find. Runs a little on the small side like most off-road radials.

The longer I off-road, the more I realize that there is no perfect tire.

Ill agree with your last comment about no perfect tire. Ive been DD the KM2's for 3 years and they have only let me down on ice so far. Wet pavement they work good nice big groves to help prevent hydroplaning and have never unintentionally had them break traction. I love the KM2's for my DD/ wheeling rig. They do chuck pretty easy though. GJ you can go look at my tires and even take the JK out for a spin if you want. It probably needs it anyways.

Buy used Maxxis trep stickies once a year....lol

Fyi the new Procomp MT measures 36 3/4" mounted on rim with 10lbs of air

Disregard the last....it looks like I can get them in a LT345/75R16/D 29037 3750@50 N/A 36.38 9.5" - 12" 13.6"

i'm using Cooper Discoverer STT. it can be categorized probably between an all-terrain and [url=http://4wheelonline.com/Off_Road_Mud_Tires.25]mud tire[/url]. they're right on the budget; affordable compared to other brands i've used. I run 34-35 psi on the street and anywhere from 20-24 psi for when i'm running on mild trails depending on the surface conditions. Road handling is average/good. Noise is not bad( if compared to BFGs).
