Ok well I haven't seen anything in here for CAi's. I'm interested in getting one for my 2004 dodge ram 1500 4x4. I have the 5.7 liter Hemi power plant.

Im curious to know if anybody is running one on their ride; If so which one?

Did you get a noticeable HP gain, how about MPG's. Especially interested on the MPG's.

I have the Airaid on my Jeep and really like it. I installed it at the same time as a new muffler and a throttle body spacer and got a little bit better fuel mileage and power.

The filter is very good quality, better than K&N IMHO.

On a serious note, why not do a hummer style intake out of your cowl?
90's Buicks and Astro Vans have a sealed tube style air filter, and tractor prefilters are cheap. Add some flex hose through the fire wall into the cowl up to pre-filter installed in the cowl and you got a cold air and a snorkel.

Whatever you do, don't believe the manufacture's dyno numbers when decided on a CAI.

For Jeeps, JP magazine and Petersons has done several articles on CAI in Jeeps; Most of the 4.0 and 3.8 engines they tested had no HP increase, and many actually lost horsepower on the dyno runs with the CAI. Also, I have seen many Jeeps hydro-lock on deep water crossings when the CAI got overloaded with water; the stock air box does a good job of preventing this from happening.

On your HEMI truck; People seem to be getting real 10-15HP increases on independent dyno tests.

Most of the CAIs that gain horsepower do so because of the larger diameter intake tubes, not the filter.

well not really looking into the jeep. The jeep is the least of my worries. I doubt that that little 4 banger could get much more power, plus its not the dd anymore so I don't have to worry about fuel with it.

The dodge on the other hand is my main concern. I already have exhaust on it, so the next thing is the cai. I'm considering going with the s&b filters. I've read a lot of good reviews on them so far. Now if I could only find one cheaper.

I believe iceman and knn has a CAI system specifically for your model. But surely it will not be cheap. A pal of mine bought one from [url=http://4wheelonline.com]4wheelonline[/url]. Price is cheaper compared to other retailer. Another alternative would be aftermarket drop in filter, way more cheaper than CAI but serves its purpose almost the same.
