Motor Swap Questions

I'm in the middle of a motor swap in my JTruck. Throwing a 5.3 in it. I left all the emission stuff on the motor, and the cats are there as well. There is nothing programmed out of the ECM, and it should pass. The only thing I'm really concerned with is the EVAP Canister. I grabbed one from a Chevy Blazer and figured I could make it work but do I need it or can I just use the one that come on the truck from the factory? Also, where would I take it to get it refereed when I'm ready? And do I have to have this done before I can register it here in CA?

Use the evap from the 5.3. When you are ready there is a number to call ( google Ca BAR Referee) and pick Bakersfield. You'll need to make an appt and he is located at Bakersfield College. Be sure to know the year of the motor and that the SES light is functional. Be advised...he will check everything. Some links below..

Well as far as this goes... Has anyone on here done this type of swap or can anyone give me a little help on making the evap system work on my existing rig? I'm sure I'm looking at buying some more pieces but I'm not exactly sure what I need to get it to work.
