I was coming back from san diego when I found out the vine was closed, took a detor to my parents pad in Oxnard. I hit up hungry valley for a little bit on the way back to bako today. They really should allow 4x4s to keep moving, 6" of snow, dry even.... is not hard to drive on.

I heard a lot of cars ran out of gas on the side of the road.

Really, they do it in SoCal out of necessity because of the Idiotic nature of LA drivers. My cousin is CHP on the Grapevine, and trust me, these SoCal fools still try to do 90MPH with bald tires on ice. They actually leave the pass open until so many vehicles are spun out that the road would be closed anyway. Look at other roads in California like I-80; they leave that open even when it dumps 6 feet in a night. Look at the passes on the 395 which get 10 feet of snow in 1 storm and stay open. Trust me, its a SoCal thing, the culture of low expectations - need to cater to the lowest denominator for the greater good.

The east coast is a bad analogy, as they get very little snow compared to the west, and entire cities on the east coast shut down over a couple inches of snow. I don't know, in Phily they even cancel football games because of a couple inches of snow :lol3: .

PS, good to see a fellow Bruin on in the club :Thumb: .
