Woo hoo!! :celebrate:

The blue Petty Cash Racing XJ beat out a bunch of Porche's and BMW's (and Miatas and RX7s) and got 4th overall at last weekends LeMons race at Portland Raceway. Who'd a thunk a $200 XJ with a stock 244k motor could be fast around a road race track?? The new Falken tires (thanks to Falken tire and Raceline Wheels) work really well, and the Bilstein shocks are an improvemnt (thanks to Jeol at Bilstein), and the new G&G front bumpstops are working. The Jeep was turning lap times within 10 seconds of the leaders, and with under 4 minute pit stops and no mechanical problems the car stayed out on the racetrack and all four drivers did a great job. WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE FOR THIS ONE!

The guys were 4th overall on Sat, and then held that position and finished 4th overall on Sunday. They got 2nd place in class B behind a turbo Merker that was the 2nd fastest car on the track, and amazingly held together for the whole race. Too much fun!!

Matt took the car back to race in Denver with some good wheeling buddies who also have a race car shop in Ft Collins. They took 5th overall, and had to limp it in for the last 1/2 hr. The 244k motor we put in at Infineon finally gave up the ghost.

That makes us the West coast series points leader.............a Jeep leading all the BMW's and Porsches. Sweet! :drinks:

We'll be racing Infineon again in Oct and Buttonwillow again in Dec.
