Met Mickey (Henry) at Pismo
So I met my first IOR member at Pismo this weekend. Henry is a pretty cool guy, and his TJ is far more modified than mine will ever be. The most I'm hoping for is a 4" lift, trimming, 35's and lockers. Maybe drivetrain upgrades as needed to handle the 5.3L Gen 3 Chevy V8 that'll go in when my poor little 4 cyl with 235k miles finally croaks.
Took my deuce to Pismo too, it did great in the sand, as always. Of course I had to pull a bunch of people out who were stuck, and one guy brought a DUKW boat/truck from Tulare. It was cool and he definitely trumped me for coolest vehicle at Pismo.
I fit 15 Latinos in the back of my truck for a ride around the campsites. All of them were family/friends of a buddy. They made awesome homemade mexican food too.
That was the last beach trip for the deuce this year, but perhaps next Spring Break or Memorial Day I'll take it over again. Even without lockers, she does just fine with 15 psi in the 53" tires.
Just figured I'd share a little about our trip. Looking forward to meeting some more of ya'll.
Thanks.
Zak, Katie and the kids.
