Currently we are working on making IOR an official member of CA4WD.

We all use these trails and it is important that we do our part to help keep them open!

What does this mean for members?

Nothing if you don't want it to. The club format, leadership and structure will remain the same. You will not be required to become a member of CA4WD, just encouraged. It is still your choice.

But wait...To be a member of CA4WD you have to have By-Laws. Won't that change the club?

No, I am going to work with the Mod team to write by-laws that allow the club to continue to operate the way it always has. I have heard that you guys like it this way and I will be darned if I'm gonna change that! This is still YOUR club and it will be ran like that. Once we are finished with the by-laws they will be posted to make sure the majority approves of them before anything is setup.

I want to become a member of CA4WD with the club. What do I do?

At this point, hang tight. The soonest the club can be accepted into CA4WD is at the regional meeting in Dec. At that point anybody that wants to join can join with the club. As of now the membership fee is $45.00 a year. CA4WD is going to only charge new members $24 for the remainder of this year and renewal will then be in July.

I am already a member. What about me?

If you are already a member if CA4WD and want to be included in the clubs roster just give me your info and member # and they will include you in our roster.

That's all of the questions I could think up so if you have any more questions, comments or concerns please post up!!

I'm encouraged that there is interest in moving in this direction. Unfortunately, we don't have much of a free ride in this country regarding many things, and keeping our public land and trails open so we can use and enjoy them is something that we can't take for granted. It's important that we each do something, and joining one of the organizations that works to protect our access and paying them a small amount of dues or contribution is about the minimum that we can do.

If we don't have time or know how, or motivation, to be actively involved in the political process of preserving access to public lands, we can support those who do. Cal4Wheel has two full time people that do nothing but represent us to the Forrest Service and BLM, go to meetings, write reports, and make official responses and recommendations to all the various government studies regarding potential trail closures.

Kudos to GJ and Chis and anyone else who is working on this.

Sounds like a good plan to me, the no structure structure works well
