Whatever you decide to buy, make sure it is LEDs; Big light in small package and barely eats and battery juice.

I bought the ORO kit from Genright because I like the ease of install, full wiring kit, and the fact that they are waterproof and impact resistant. There are many good cheaper options though.

I found these SuperFlux 4-chip and they look like they would work well and be easy to hook up. They are water proof and already have a resistor installed.

U can get a.strip of over 100 leds for about 40 bucks from China cut them to length and solder in the leads and ulll have.more.than enough for one or two rigs. I prefer no rock lights they're pointless imo

Not if you have to work on your rig at night. And Rock lights make spotting someone in pitch black so much easier. We do tons of night runs all the time, and I have found rock lights to be pretty useful, more so than off-road lights (which you can't even use when running in groups unless you are in the front).

I do night runs everytime I go anywhere. Most of the time it at the hammers. And on average I don't spend more than 20 minutes on a trail there unless I'm waiting for the group to catch up. I do not work on my rig on the trail. If I need.spotting I get out of my rig and look myself. I don't trust people spotting me so IV learned to do it from the driverseat. That's my style of driving. That's why I said the less from China would be my choice. But I have no reason to run any.

Oh here we go.. LOL.. I know I need some spotting.. Plus rock lights are nice to have.. Even if you are a left seat spotter and it's pitch black out and you are running the hammers alone in the dark. you can't always see every bump in the road.. So it is a nice safety feature to have.. But then again, I will probably never be as good of a driver as you, especially running the hammers in pitch black alone... You must have balls of steel.. LOL..
I'm just throwing this in for good humor...

Can't compare the two.. he's pretty much got a buggy so a lot easier to see... Not to mention its probably set up really well since he says he never works on the trail, which means he don't break often... Our rigs are normal and break.. usually when u least expect it lol no matter how much maintenance we do lol

Rock lights are OK, but I don't have them. I like rock crawling in the dark, but never thought I needed rock lights. I can see the benefits, though. If I break down at night can I borrow someones rock lights?
