Isn't 70 the right number? I went in a few years back and they told me to skip rocks until I can prove 70% loss.

They said Bush changed the law? My fault for not keeping up so make sure you renew your purple triangle before it expires.

Great News!!!

My dad's backpay check was outrageous! He's been 100% since 2000. I don't know how they figured a date for his backpay, but he's been out since 1969.

My mom says I "am not the same" since I came back from Iraq in 2005. I did start collecting guns within a week of returning and I am hyper-vigilant (read: prepared to defend myself against all enemies, foreign and domestic) I never thought I had any kind of disability, but now I'm starting to wonder if I don't have some mild PTSD.

Any thoughts guys/gals??

Zak I think anyone who has a been shot at or been in a place that everyone wants to kill you becomes more aware of what is going on and prepares. I know guys that are the same way after just being down in MS and LA after katrina. You see things that most people dont and you dont want to be put in that situation. So you make sure you dont get put in that situation buy being aware and defending/ protecting yourself against that kind of shit.
Me for instance i didnt have a gun in my house until after i went to katrina. I saw more fucked up shit down there then anywhere else. You cleared rooms to make dead bodies i cleared rooms to find them. Now im super aware of natural disasters because of it i dont want to put my family through that.
Not saying you dont have PTSD just saying i think most of us do to a point.

I'd agree there. Military service of any type, peacetime or combat changes you.

If I had been Navy, it would have been more like change you cannot believe in! Just ask Pete... it's common knowledge that when sailors go on float... they come back as half as many couples. Seabees.... oh shit!?! They have things like BACKHOs! (yeah... you read that right, a ho that likes it in the back... and there ain't too many female Seabees... so that leaves a lot of room for guys that want to play AC/DC).

My mom was the first person to say that I was a different person, she said she could see it in my eyes, I have 4 deployments under my belt, something happend each time, I denied I was different, I said I am not one of those guys they talk about, but as time went on I did start to notice changes and I seeked help, Zak, I remember talking to you at the ball and chain run, I suggested you go and see someone, not because I felt you had PTSD, but just in case, and you get help sooner than later, its not our fault we get this, we raised our right hand, and i would do it again in a heart beat, but now we suffer for what we have done and there is help, I just wish I would have gotten help along time ago, if you ever need someone to help you, or point you in the right direction( i was awesome in land nav) i know what steps you need to take, all it is is a little time

I would agree as well. I was in during "peacetime" days even though they counted it during the first Iraq war. I was sent to Oklahoma City in 1995 after the bombing. Some things you never forget.

Congrats Bigdogg for getting what u earned. Always glad to see servicemen get what they earned afterwards. Unfortunately that is not always the case. Seems to be better now days. Thank you for your service and sacrifices! :salute:
