F*CK FORD!!!!!

Well, after years of buying Toyotas and GMC trucks, I decided to give Ford a chance. What a mistake that was.

My Trans in my F250 just took a shit after 8 months and 11K miles. I call Ford and they sent out a tow truck to get my stranded vehicle and tow it to Jim Burke Ford. I call 2 days later to ask about my truck and am told that they have it and will get to it shortly, they are a little backed up right now. I'm not happy, but it is what it is.

So 4 days later without a reply I call again, give them my plate and VIN and they say "what truck, that truck was never brought to either Ford dealership in Bakersfield". I tell the lady my story and she promptly gets someone else on the phone. This person tells me that they do not have my truck and that I need to be careful of which tow company I hire!!!!!!!! I remind him that Ford hired the tow truck, not me. After they tried to blame their incompetence on me, I am really getting pissed and let them know it.

They call me back about an hour later to let me know that they found my truck IN THE FRONT LOT at Jim Burke????? She tells me that they are backed up for over a month on trans problems (very confidence inspiring) so they would have to take my truck to another dealership for the repairs. She states that repairs could take a long time. I then ask about a rental truck, and she begins to tell me that Ford doesn't offer rentals as part of their standard warranty!!! Her boss gets on the phone and confirms that if you drive a ford off the lot and it breaks down on the street and takes 3 months to fix, you will not get a rental.

I will never buy another Ford again.

If Toyota made 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, GM and Ford would be out of business in a year. No company is perfect, but at least Toyota stands behind their products and weeds out incompetent pricks from their service departments.

Dodge builds an awesome diesel. The truck may not last as long as the drivetrain but it will never be in the shop.

That's some shit DD....I'd have it wrapped with a lemon design put a short version of the story on it. Drive it around town like that for a while and I bet they offer to buy it back. I've seen it done before.

DONT GO THERE. I have owned Jeeps for the last 20 years, and a dodge truck. Chrysler is THE WORST out of any car company in the world. You expect shit products and service from Chrysler, so I know what i'm getting into every time I buy a new Jeep.

I test drove the new Dodge Diesel: it was a gutless turd with a clunking trans. The Chevy and Fords have better packages. When I bought into my business, we had Dodges, which subsequently fell apart (even the interior) in short order and we got the worst service imaginable. We then upgraded our fleet with GMCs, which had constant trans and injector pump problems, but the service was twice as good as Dodge. This year, I thought about going to Fords, but will not after this experience. Our sales people drive Toyota Tundras, all with well over 100K on them, and not a single drivetrain issue, and when you do have an problem you are treated just as good as you were the day you bought the vehicle. I guess I just have to accept that all US auto makers build a shit product and let their dealerships run amok with blatantly horrible service.

I expected better of Ford :furious:

That sucks DD. I bought a new dodge 3/4 ton diesel in 2007. It was in and out of the shop more times than I want to remember in the first year. Hated that truck and the crappy service everytime I took it in. Ex got that in the divorce as I didnt fight that one bit.

new trucks sure are nice. but i prefur to stick to the old stuff that i can fix myself usually in a day or so. i agree with DD though chrysler products are a joke. you either get a really amazing one (about 3 percent of what rolls off the lines daily) or a total POS (all the rest) the only reason the older dodge diesels are awsome is because there no dodge components in them lol. get an old 12valve 3/4 ton dodge and youll be good to go chris.

You need to go farther up the food chain...I'd want to talk to the manager and if they can't do better than the dipshit service mgr then onward and upward to the regional rep or even to Detroit. And dropping your rig in the front lot and leaving it there is unacceptable.

that sucks dude, ive dealt with jim burke professionally for years now and i can say i am not surprised.

They absolutely will not touch any truck they have with a cummins diesel in it(f650/750) trucks.

Last month we had a customer call our shop looking for their brand new f650, we did not have their truck in our shop and explained to the customer that it wasnt at our shop.

The customer called me back 30 minutes later saying that JBF swore up and down that their tow company towed it to us. When the customer gave me the tow company name I called them and inquired about the truck.

The tow company stated that JBF contracted them to tow the truck to the tow companies yard and hold it until they received further instruction from JBF.

I called the customer back and found out that it had been towed two weeks prior and JBF never authorized or called the tow company back to have it towed to either JBF or our shop.

And that call is par for the course with JBF, just this week we had a similar customer issue with JBF and it has repeatedly happened for a few years. If you still have an issue with JBF talk to the service writer Gabriel Garcia, and if he doesnt make something happen ask for his manager(tim iirc). Gabriel is the only one I have ever talked to that will return a call or make a decision without delaying further.

Best of luck bud...

Sorry to hear that dd but i have a dodge and it is far from a turd! but i dont mind shifting gears either. the reason you have bad service is because yall go to piece of shit worthless no good sorry rat bastard haddad dodge go somewhere else and see how the service is there! i did have two issues with mine first was the turbo because i was boosting to much and after they replaced for free in one day i then had it not running right and looked in the air breather and there i saw a ford enblem i guess i sucked it off the ford that i blew by while pulling a load twice as much as him and still get twice the fuel milage!! just saying i like mine. :owned:  :stirPot:

Chris... Sounds like the dealership is the bad guy here... Contact corporate offices. Hopefully they rectify this bullshit. Don't blame you for wanting to never own Ford again!

I contacted Ford corporate on Friday already. I got passed around numerous times between robo-messages and people who passed me on to other people. Finally they took my message and said someone would contact me within a couple days. I guess its better than Chrysler customer service, which hung up the phone on me several times over warranty issues with my Jeep.

Glad I don't work at JBF anymore!

Chris, corporate can't really do anything for you. They can bring it to the attention of upper level mgmt and/or the dealer, but you're better off doing that yourself. Garrett Ming is the parts and service director, and he is a good and responsible guy. Dan Hay is the dealer, as you know. Both of them will take your phone calls, both will look into it and call you back, and do what they can. Unfortunately, the place has 300 employees, and some situations are very difficult to manage. Of course, what you experienced should not happen. I wouldn't hesitate to call Dan Hay, you know who he is, and he would much rather hear from you and have the chance to do something than have you say the things you're saying. He can't change what happened, but he'd sure like to know what's going on.

I remember Garrett Ming, he seemes to be a good guy, Dan Hay seemed to be the guy a lot of employees were afraid of, all the times I talked to him he seemed to be a fair and decent man, I agree with Richard, talk to these guys, I am sure they will figure a way to take care of you

bs ford wont take nothing but your money! tey dont care if you ever get it fixed! i think you should take your jeep and park it on the hood of one of those new mustangs they have and then i bet you will get some service very quikly.i think it is bullshit that you spend 60k or more on a truck and then have problems and they dont care! people may say im a a--hole but im really not and you will never get this resolved unless you are one that is the only way i have ever been about to get what is meant at a dealership! i hope you get it fixed i dont think anyone should have to go thru this bs! ford never wants to help only because they think everyone likes them enough to wait for them to do it on there time! well they need to realize that the only ford to buy and not have to worry about is the 7.3 diesel! and they dont make that anymore so they need to step it up not a bit but alot! ok im done bashing them! sorry just my thoughts

Chris if they dont get you straitened out soon you might consider calling the BBB and BAR. Maybe they can light a fire under their a$$es. This is unaccepteable and unprofessional on a massive level.

I worked at a few car dealerships for 29 years. While problems happen, no single employee there wants to screw you, or do a bad job. Mistakes happen, crap falls through the cracks, stuff happens that never should happen. However, no one there gets up in the morning and comes to work and thinks "how am I going to screw someone over today", just like you they go to work intending to do a good job. The dealer is more interested in his reputation than he is in the money from any single transaction. Talk to them and give them a chance to resolve the issue. They might not make you happy, but you can give them a chance. Tons of people have their vehicles worked on at the dealer, if they were all unhappy the store wouldn't be in business anymore. It's a fact that unhappy people tell 7x more people about their experience than happy people do.

I'm not making excuses for the dealership, just trying to add a little perspective, for what it might or might not be worth. I worked in management at JBF for 15 years, and I resolved hundreds of negative situations in a positive way. I wish Burke Ford had some better systems in the service department. They have more problems than they should. They do some things I wish they wouldn't. But, as employees and as a dealer they want to do a good job and they want every customer to have a good experience.
