Fire Restrictions

FYI
I spoke to the Forestry Service in Prather and starting tomorrow no more fires unless you are in a designated site. The definition of a designated site is one with a host or a fee to stay. This affects all the trails above Fresno, but I don't know about anywhere else. She didn't know if or when the ban will be lifted. No charcoal bbq's either.

Yep, first lightning storm up there and mother nature will revitalize the soil with ash.

I read that you have to have a fire permit to use your stove. I'm fine with all of this for safety, but it seems crazy the trails stayed closed till June 15th so the trails would be dry enough. Now 17 days later it is too dry.

I'm pretty sure that if it was up to the government, they wouldn't even let us into the land. So by making it a pain in the :moon: they hope that we stay away all together.
