steering upgrade?

I still have stock steering, no bueno, but am looking at Rustys tie-rod conversion to beef it up. OTK is to $$ for me at this time, and so is Currie's heavy duty Y-link. What do you recommend (for an 2001 XJ with 4.5" lift) direct replacement? I'm on a budget until I get a job FYI!

V8 ZJ tierod. It's solid, and a good junkyard find.

That ZJ tie rod was introduced to me recently, for about ten bucks and some time, you could have a really nice tie rod. Look into that unless you really have no time to search.

Does that work for the JK as well?

It probably won't work on a JK. It'll work on everything else though. Congratulations on getting a jeep which there is no junkyard support on.

You could always sell it and get a TJ or an LJ. They've got the good ol' 4.0 in them. Late rubicons had E lockers and d44s. Plus they look better.

Dang for that price maybe I should have gone that route, but already bought the Currie and installing it in the morn. Didn't have anytime to search with graduation parties and moving back to Sodak.

Lots of peeps moving to So Dakota. Where the good money is right now. I grew up in Montana and used to visit there quite a bit.
